Water for cultivation (soil)

    I have city water that is very hard and full of calcium that left my first attempt at a grow with white dried calcium all over my plants. Swapped to spring water (store bought ) and did fine with my next grow. My question is anything I can do to my tap water so I can use it ( other than a RO system ) Spring water is getting expensive . Any ideas ?
