Water Crystals?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by krawl, Feb 9, 2009.

  1. Has anyone here used water crystals in their soil:

I got them for using for my feeder bugs for my lizards, but was wondering if anyone here had used them for their intended purpose in a MJ grow?

  2. I've heard that they don't work so well, same with those auto feeder things that "know"
    when to water your plant.

I use Mycorrihzae fungus which are very beneficial for any soil grow. It reduces the number
of waterings, and helps plants roots take up nutrients faster and makes more available
    to it.

    This is the stuff

  3. thanks. Had the stuff here, and just kinda wondered.

  4. I doubt it would do any harm.. Go for it! Let us know though!

  5. Water crystals work wonders in container grows.... Especially when layered in the bottom of the container or hole outdoors.

  6. I've never used them for cannabis but yes they will work quite well if used in the right proportions.

  7. I've used around a cup of expanded crystals per 3 gallon container with no problems. Mix them into the soil, then plant.

  8. Check out Corto Maltez's outdoor journal. He is usning them with good success. I think you have to watch out for these if it rains once a week. His are needing water every 10days, and if there is more water then they like they will wilt, and roots may rot out. If you do use them put them towards the bottom, and outter edges of an amended hole/bucket, but make sure you have great drainage to prevent excess water from sitting.

  9. This looks really cool :) I need to get me some of this!
