water cloning question

  1. I've recently gotten a small (4 inch), very green cutting of a sativa.
As my budget is minuscule, I've decided to go with the water cloning method.

For the last few days, the cutting has been sitting in about an inch of water in an opaque glass. I've changed the water every other day, kept the room warm, misted the cutting etc.
I'm still wondering if I'm doing something wrong though, since the cutting is getting quite droopy, I can see no evidence of roots starting, and the surface of the cut is starting to stain brown.

Have I missed some vital part of the water cloning method, or am I just being overly nervous from inexperience here?

  2. do not let them sit in water without a air stone
