    talking about hard drugs is one thing but just talkin about smokin weed i have no worries over.....there is no crime for talking about it, and if the cops want to come raid my house for 3.5 grams of weed i got then they can go ahead. Cops go after big busts not small petty shit like smokin weed, ive never in the history of my life heard of a house getting raided just for buying and smoking weed. If your selling or you say you have very large amounts then yeah thats one thing, but just to smoke and posess marijuana they arent gonna set up sting operations just for that, if they did the media would be sure to make a big deal out of it because most people would be outraged if their tax dollars were going.


    I follorw marijuana laws and marijuana law news stories all the time so i fell like im pretty knoledgeable on the topic. And unless its a huge bust or its someone growing or selling the cops and defintally the dea arent going to set up operations to bust marijuana smokers.

    Also a huge difference with hackers and smokers is hacking was still a pretty new thing back in the 80's and as time has passed cyber laws get tougher and tougher every year, marijuana is the exact oposite, every yr marijuana laws get less and less strict.


    Also even though there is say half a million marijuana arrests a year you gotta realize most those arrests were either just fines or prohbation, maybe 1 or 2 days in jail at the most. Also most those arrests arent from raids they are from people getting pulled over or smokin in public, ive never ever heard of a house gettin raided just for someone smoking weed and my cop friends havent either.


    So to sum it up , for the majority of the people on here you should have no fears of talking bout smoking or buying weed. For those of you that grow , sell , or keep a very large amount just use common sense and dont talk about things you wouldnt normally talk about in front of a cop.

    also be informed on what your state marijuana laws are, you can check out your states laws at www.norml.org . Because the DEA only goes after big growers or dealers no one else so that means of there was going to be a raid it would proally be done by state cops so if your state laws on marijuana are very un strict then you defintally know you have nothing to worry about..... like in california a Oz or less is just a ticket, no jail time or nothin the cop just writes you a ticket and leaves (of course they take your weed) , so i deftinally know the cops arent gonna set up a sting operation just to give someone a small ticket.... and if they do id just laugh and pay the ticket.

    cali_toker's right. unless you have something that's worth the DEA setting up a sting over... don't really worry about it. if you do have something worth the DEA's time... well... just use common sense ;)

    ok, this is getting annoying. everyone thinks that the police have better things to do, well heres the fact, They Dont! they are constantly looking for an "easy bust". what could be easier than sitting on the computer for an hour and busting 30+ people? have any of you ever watched "cops"? they set up busts against hookers, HOOKERS. I mean what kind of serious crime do hookers commit? really? all they do is fuck people for money. that shouldnt even be a crime. yet the stupid fuckin police have to go out and bust them and the people that pick 'em up when theres killers, rapists, child porno rings, and other real offenders out there that they figure are "too time consuming" to go after. my point is that cops are lazy sons-a-bitches that will do anything if it doenst require them to move, or think alot.

    Yes, youre right theyre looking for an easy bust. If they see a circle of teens in the woods off the street with a small flame, theyre gonna bust them. But no cop is gonna sit on a site that anyone in the world can connect to, and try to track someone down for smoking an 8th at a party Saturday night. That is not an easy bust, and just saying you smoke on here isnt even enough for them to bust down your door. People who post pictures of a room full of plants, they might get some trouble, but most of the people who come here arent big time dealers.

    and one more thing. most of us dont have a constantly huge supply of weed. so if they come to the door, chances are we've just finished smoiing the bag, dont even have one, or are waiting to pick up.

    there just to many factors that would harm any sort of bust done to any of us. to may variables.

    enough!

    i know someone who have been busted for having 0.01 grames of hash (a roach in an ashtray basically). I know people who have been busted for not even being in possesion, but for simply watering a plant in a house they were looking after for a freind.

    so stop trying to make everyone complacent.

    be aware of the risk everyone.

    it only takes one asshole cop to make that move to get a few more arrests on his sheet. and they wont argue with him because technically the law will be on his side. it happens... and until the laws are officially changed you are not safe to toke even in the privacy of your own home.

    not even if you live in the UK where the European conventions on human rights are in effect are you safe. (this is why Ganja Cat had to leave the UK to the non extraditial Netherlands)

    Do you actually believe that the government is spending tax payers money to bust little potheads for a quarter. NO. They are spending tax payers money to take down major drug barons. And you know the local cops(who are the only ones looking to bust little hoodlums) arent going to surf the net looking for anyone in there town that posts on grasscity forums. Get real man.

    Actually, the DEA will bust "small time" dealers and use them as pawns in their game to go after the "big time" dealers. It happens every day. They need their little snitches to gain access to the big guys. They get their snitches by busting the little guy who's scared of getting pimped out in jail. They offer deals and get info in return. Once they do that, they pretty much "own" the snitch who's really just a bitch anyway.


    The government spends tax payers money everyday by spreading propaganda, going after peaceful potheads and filling our jails up with people charged with simple possession. That's common knowledge. Hell, the government spends our money for all kinds of nonsense. They have people policing the net right now for different types of things. There's an automatic system that flags certain terms.

    Don't ask, don't tell. Thats pretty much the attitude I have with everyone except my closest friends. You noticed I don't give too much personal info about myself, or what I'm doing. I think I asked for a tip on growing a while back, thats it though.

    i think i posted a little ditty in the news section about how the american government can now proclaim that anyone who so much as smokes a joint is helping to fund terrorism and so they can subject you to the exact same treatment as they do the terrorists.

    RMJL, have you seen anything specifying the exact terms that are flagged? I checked both of those links and didn't wanna look through all that (for the third time) to see if they're there, I doubt it though. There's always a chance that just asking for the terms could get you flagged...

    The system that flags terms isn't listed in the act, I don't think. They've had that system for a lot longer than they have had the Patriot Act, though. I'll hunt down some info on it later. I'm sure I throw up flags all the time with the research I do online so I'm not really concerned with that myself. I'm active in the cause (legalization) and those that want to know already do around here. I know that's how they busted a whole crew of people in this area for having child porn *FLAG*. After they got them that way, they used everything they could get from their computers through the system and then raided their homes and took their PC's and then escorted them to jail.


    *The flags mostly come up when you do searches.

    I live in Canada, If i got busted with pot i would get a small fine. If a cop said that he knew that i posted on grasscity and that i could get off of the fine if i told him names, i would give him the finger then tell him tto give me my ticket. Do you actually think that by saying something on an internet forum your going to have your door kicked in by swat.
