When all hope was lost I have stumbled upon a clue that there may in fact be intelligent life forms in Olympia: http://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/bienni...Bills/6083.... As I read it, SB6083 will allow anyone 21 or over to grow up to six plants at home, possess up to 8 oz and transfer up to one oz to another (over 21) adult. No "renumeration" is allowed. And no taxes to the Liquor Control Nazis! Edit: Oops!! The bill # in the title is a typo....
I just got off of the phone with Sen. Kohl-Wells office. The bill is still alive but she is unlikely to be in Olympia next session as she running for King County Council. They told me that another sponsor is going to have to pick it up. They suggested that I contact Rep. Walsh and ask if they will take over. Rep. Maureen Walsh maureen.walsh@leg.wa.gov (509) 527-4151
Wow! Watch this video of Walsh: http://tvw.org/index.php?option=com_...6734&stop=7035 I take a little satisfaction in her stand. I get tired of taking pot shots on the boards for being a Republican.....
Excerpt from an email I received from Rep. Walsh's office regarding SB 6083: "Rep. Walsh is interested in moving the bill forward. "
Interesting tidbit I came across: The following representatives have indicated support for home growing in the past: Brian Blake (D): brian.blake@leg.wa.gov Cary Condotta (R): cary.condotta@leg.wa.gov Reuven Carlyle (D): reuven.carlyle@leg.wa.gov Luis Moscoso (D): luis.moscoso@leg.wa.gov Sherry Appleton (D): appleton.sherry@leg.wa.gov Dean Takko (D): dean.takko@leg.wa.gov Hans Dunshee (D): hans.dunshee@leg.wa.gov Maureen Walsh (R): maureen.walsh@leg.wa.gov Chris Reykdal (D): chris.reykdal@leg.wa.gov If you live in one of these Rep's district PICK UP THE PHONE OR SEND AN EMAIL!!
