Good morning blades! I hope you all are doing well! I saw a pretty nifty article this morning. I posted the article here, and a link to the original. I highlighted the parts I felt were the most important in red (Such as what specifically the initiative will make legal!) Washington could become first state to approve recreational sales of marijuana for those over 21. The Original Article:
Again though, the blood testing stuff really doesnt make any sense. Especially if you are a heavy pot smoker...does THC not often measure higher than the stated level? It really doesnt make sense and they need to come up with a proper way to test whether or not being stoned at the time of getting pulled over is the true reason the cop pulled you over. All cops would need to do is randomly start pulling people over and if they are total assholes they could just randomly test you, you may not have smoked at the time...but you COULD be a heavy user.....which could then cause you to get a higher reading than stated maximum. I dont really understand that part of the stated policy, its kinda fuckin stupid.
This is cool and all but still pretty much useless if you plan on doing anything with your life if you can still get fired for it...
I can see how you would be worried about that but I think the concern doesn't really take the numbers into account. From my understanding in order to get the blood test for THC a cop would have to drive you to a hospital(and that isn't going to change as drawing blood is something that is much more dangerous than having someone blow into something), wait for your results, and then take you to the station for booking if you were over the limit. Let's say that whole process will take an hour from beginning to end. That means that it will take 1 cop 1 hour to bust 1 stoner for a DUI, at least. I'm skeptical, to say the least, that a group of people who haven't come down on cannabis users super hard before are willing to take that much effort to start doing so. As long as you aren't swerving or anything like that the chances that you will get pulled over are pretty slim.
Wrong,,,Colorado will beat Washington state by 1 hour. ""This is cool and all but still pretty much useless if you plan on doing anything with your life if you can still get fired for it... "" Damn,,,give us time to fix the unfixed,,you can get fired now for it so what is the difference? The difference is that you may lose your job but you won't lose your eligibility for student loans and a long list of harms from being arrested for pot after 502. That is of course as long as you can go out on a Saturday nite with only 1 ounce.
So this forces everyone to buy thier's and go to jail if they grow there own because they cant afford another prescription? then again gotta start somewhere? we've waited this long.. how much worse is it to wait for something that actually helps.
This does help. Full legalization isn't an overnight process. This is just one step of many in the journey. I'm happy for the potential of recreational legality, or even just more widespread decriminalization. Just another domino.
most likely, if they force people to buy it from somewhere, big corporations will get into it. You can pretty much say bye to any decently grown weed after that unfortunately....
Right now,,before you think too much,,go buy some stock in any good hydroponics/grow industry company,,because more people are growing their own than have ever done so before and the numbers will climb as big brother tries to shift from putting people in jail for pot to selling them some.
I think I have figured out why the government is ignoring science and common sense and refusing to discuss ending prohibition. If they allow states to legalize and the politicians to sin tax marijuana enough to keep the market price for marijuana above $20 per ounce it insures a continued “green market”,,because they cannot raise the cost of production. With an illegal market kept in place they can continue to prohibit industrial hemp,,the reason marijuana is illegal in the first place. The people get their marijuana and the people that paid for the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act continue to keep hemp off the open market and protect their profits,,,
Please Please DON"T allow them to do this. They will take away everything we've tried to do. I tell everybody I know . Please vote no. They are going to make this sound as good as they can. I;ve have friends that are amazed at what I can do with the whole plant. And they said the commercials are trying to make this sound great. Don't forget they will glamorize this for their coffers. They have mothers on commercials saying this is the best thing for WA. NO NO It'll take everything from the grower. I have the whole proprosal from my Northwest Leaf mag. I wish there was some way to put it up. Don't know if I'm allowed. This is just my opinion.

To not take advantage of this oppurtunity is insane. It may be heavier regulated than some would like, but it would really put marijuana in the national spotlight.
