  1. Hey guys I want to start this thread off by saying im on a 3rd plateau trip of dxm so bare with me ok. My question is still totally legit. I have no drive to go to college and spend years studying hours and hours a day and not know where im going. I dont believe im that kind of person. To me college is just a way to eventually earn alot of income. its about money. almost everything they offer in college i am not interested in. Id be much happier doing construction or landscaping than getting a major in business or whatever.life is full of ups and downs and I personallyget alot more ups without college. Ive thought about it so much when i was younger and was going to but i just cant get this thought out of my head.

Our lives are way too short to waist them studying and studying to become something that us humans believe is honorable. This is going to get a little crazy so bare with me. Why are the majority of humans so close minded and stuck in there own ways? the average person believes that to be a successfull person you have to graduate highschool, get a college education, a high paying job and then a wife/husband and kids. But why? why do we think this is the process you have to go through to be considered "successfull" who on earth has the knowledge of everything in this universe to be able to determine what is successful and what isnt? Some people say i jsut say this because im not in college and if i was id have a different opinion on it. I dont think so. i dont think college is something i need to experience to find out if its right for me. I know its not right for me and im completely happy knowing that. If everyone went to collegeand got high paying jobs who would make the grass and trees look presentable? who would pick up your trash? who would serve you that quick big mac your craving? who would supply your drugs? YOu see, everyone works together to make a successful society and nobody realizes that everyone isnt meant to go to college. If you dont go to college that doesnt mean you fucked up. IT means your going to do your part in the world a different way. thats it man, we're all working together to create a happy world and the sooner everyone realizes this i think the world will be a better place. WE are all equal and i know everyone "knows" this but there is a different between KNOWING everyone is equal then UNDERSTANDING we are all equall. Just think about it. The guy that wipes the presidents ass for a living is no better/or worse than the president himself. A lawyer is no better or worse then someone who cleans toilets. WE are all equall. a successfull person is a happy person. IM happy. IM successfull. I dont need money I got enough to eat .

  2. ok guys imma be honest. the first half of that post i was just kinda buzzin and then it went in fullblown effect on the 2nd half of the post.

  3. Ive been trying to tell people this for years. All you go to college for is to make more money, and what are you going to do with more money? Buy more stuff, and go on better vacations. Thats what its all about. More stuff and better vacations.

  4. i absolutely disagree with u both.

maybe some do go to college to make more $$$. but the reason they make more is because they are exposed to more than a non college person. they are typically worth more than a grunt because a grunt can be replaced by a machine (made by a college graduate more than likely). a human that is thinking cannot be replaced by a machine, at least not yet.

a college graduate proves they can get things done by the simple fact that they went thru and graduated college. a college graduate gets exposed to the 'breath' requirements of language, math, science, art, philosophy, etc. out of college comes the brightest minds. for each person u can come up with that was hugely successful that didnt go to college, i can come up with 100 that did. most of the technological breakthru comes from college educated people.

u say that most people are closed minded, stuck in their own ways. the best way i can think to break that is to be exposed to the world. and the cheapest way to do that is thru college.

u keep equating money to education. ur making a very large leap when u try to equate those two. the step that u are missing is that the educated person is by far more productive than the non educated person. maybe he cannot dig as many ditches (tho again, that is what he have machines for. and again, those machines are designed by college educated people.) but digging ditches isnt everything that is productivity.

by the way, u say u are tripping on some drug. who u think developed that? a ditch digger? someone working @ wendy's flipping burgers? no, a college educated person and was probably developed in a research lab inside of a college.

lastly. colleges are repositories for all the world thoughs and ideas. this is where we hold those ideas, test those ideas, retest those ideas and improve on those ideas. without colleges, who would name all the plants? who would develop new technology like biochemistry and physics? who would save and analyse all the great literiture and math? in some ditch diggers basement? no, in colleges.

this sounds like a jealous rant by lazy, uneducated people to me.

  5. You don't have to go to college or university to be succcessful. My hubby started studying psychology at the Mcmasters university and now is blowing glass for a living. I personnally think it's a matter of opinion and choice. From my personal experience, I disagreed with what I was being taught, I was studying too at one point. I know people whom graduated and are doing well and some whom didn't are doing well. The same goes for some whom graduated and are doing nothing. I worked for a few business owners that never even graduated from high school but are very successful. I have some family who are in the medical fields and study all the time, they like it that way. You can learn anything you want but that piece of paper proving that you did is a big help in trying to find a career in that field. I was definetely blown away when I found out my frind Mike was now a cop. WTF. He was allways so high! He went through the hoops and his wife is a social worker. Tara his wife can't raise her own kids but has a paper saying she's a professionel in this field. I hope you have a plan. If you do then you probably will be successful. Life is what you make of it.
