Right now I have a grow box, 3 feet wide, 5 feet long, 5 feet tall. 250 W HPS, 125 W CFL, and 2x 2 bulb fluorescent tube. (40W each; 160W). Ventilation is ghetto setup of computer fans and portable fan. Using soil and no name nutrients, unsulfured molasses. Here's what I'm thinking. I can build a 3x2x5 grow tent out of insulated mylar and 1' PVC pipe for $75. All well and good, but I need some new lights... 400 W switchable ballast with HPS and MH bulb, as well as reflector, $323. 2x80 CFM 4" inline fans, $46 Couple of questions... Should I go with 6" inline fans/ducting? I can get 230 CFM 6" for $30 apiece, so it's not much more, but do I want/need that much air? Second, about how much did you pay for a pretty decent setup? This comes out to around $450, not including carbon filter, PPM/PH meter. I'm also going to be going with hydro for this setup, DWC underneath a scrog, 2 plans. Never done it before... but I'm thinking it will be a lot less mess than soil Any tips or suggestions? Anyone else doing a similar setup?
