want to buy a scale

  1. so for the first time I feel I need a scale mostly cause I'm wanting to try more edibles (never really felt I was needing to check weigh from where I was buying)

    Seems like there is no place local I'll be able to get to so been looking on-line.

    one I'm thinking of is the Proscale 111 Sells for aboput $22 to $25 after you include the shipping cost.
    Ther are a couple cheaper but in the past with other things the cheapest often are total crap...but I also don't want to spend $50 or more.
    anyone have this scale? or any recommendations in that price range? thanks:wave:

  2. just make sure you get a scale accurate to the hundredth value of a gram. like 1.27g

    they can be found for the same price, have been accurate within +/- .01g blade is an ok brand for ~$30 give or take

  3. Why just one scale?

    I say get one that only weighs to the nearest G, one to the nearest tenth, hundreth, and the almighty milligram scale (my fav).

    last piece of advice - don't get those ones that have a slide out thingy... like the digital part with numbers slides out. They always break.

  4. I have 3 different scales from my battery operated blade which works great and was $25. I also have a digital scale that's much larger which is nicer but it wasn't cheap. Here's a pic of the larger one. It was like ~90 but remember its not battery operated

  5. thanks for the suggestions. I'v seen the bigger more expensive one too and I'm sure in lots of ways they are "better" I'm definitely a believer in "you get what you pay for" so why I don't want to go for a $10 one... but right now I think the right portable smaller one will suit me needs and fit my budget. Thanks for the advice about the slide ones ones breaking a lot
    has anyone ever needed to re-calibrate a scale? is it a pain? how often doers it happen?

    this is the one I was thinking od getting...
    Proscale 111

    :rolleyes::cool:

  6. *bump* to try to get a few more opinions as I want to order tomorrow or Sat.

  7. I've always ordered my scales off of Amazon. Here are a couple I've gotten:

    They're all great scales, but the one that lasted my the longest was the first one.
