Have been searching about CO2, but can't find important answers I need. I have a perpetual set up and am looking into adding CO2 for the benefits. Have two 5x5 flower tents, and a veg tent. Looking to add CO2 to all. 1. Is CO2 more important in veg or flower? Or equally both? From what I have read, it is just as important in both. In veg is speeds growth, and in flower it increases yield, correct? 2. Does CO2 decrease flower time? Or is flower time the same no matter what, no way to speed it up? 3. Can you have CO2 in a tent in the same room you SLEEP in? Again from what I've read, I get that you shouldn't be in the same room while the CO2 is on, even in a sealed grow tent? What if I regulated it so that the CO2 is never on when I'm sleeping? I'm only in the room to sleep. 4. Venting and CO2. I understand you can't have exhaust fan on with CO2. So you have to alternate them. Also read that you a good average is to run CO2 for 4 hours, reaching 1500-1800, then shutting it off for an hour, exhaust, turn exhaust off, then CO2 again for 4 hours, etc? What if I did that, then for the 8 hours I sleep I just leave the exhaust running? Any other suggestions would be great.
1. Not sure about this. I run it during both cycles. 2. Flowering time will remain the same. It will cut veg time down a lot. 3. I don't think it will be a big issue if your system malfunctions and release a few 20 pound tanks of CO2 in your room. If you have a generator it can cut down the O2 percent in your bedroom if it is set too high. I don't think most systems will have enough power to displace the O2 in an unsealed bedroom to a point of killing you. You can live in a room with 2000 PPMs of CO2. Here is a link to tell you more about safe levels of CO2: Carbon Dioxide (CO2): Environmental Health in Minnesota 4. Never turn off your ventilation to inject CO2. Your CO2 should be injected when you don't need to ventilate. Sounds like the same thing? Well it's not. If you are ventilation to cool your room, then you better keep ventilating. Never trade CO2 enrichment for a over heated grow room. If given the choice of normal grow room temps or CO2 enrichment, I would pick normal temps in a minute. Your CO2 system should have a controller that will only allow injection when your ventilation is not being used (not needed). Don't have a controller? Then your not ready to use CO2 just yet. Only turn off ventilation when proper temps are reached.
Thats some good info Rump! What kinda numbers do you keep? do you cut back at the end of flower? I have been told to do this... and it helps make a denser final product. Thanks man!
I run mine the whole time. Tried it both ways and it did not seem effect quality. It does stop growing the last few weeks, so it might be a good idea to turn it off to save on CO2. I don't cuz I am lazy.
