Wanderin Bobs 1st grow ;)

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by WanderinBob, Feb 6, 2024.

  1. Hello any and all and welcome to my first grow now that things are legal.

I’ll be vegging in a lighthouse 2x4 tent with a Migro Array 4 LED. Blooming in a 4x4 likely with two Migro array 4’s. Using fox farms soil (ffof + ffhf + added perilite) and fox farms Nutes (grow big + Big bloom + tiger bloom). RO water will be used throughout.

1/31/24 seeds started using paper towel method. 3 apple crumble and 1 double black (attitude seedbank). The next day I decided I needed a heat source but had to work with what I had so I improvised. I used a wet cloth and microwaved it, then set that plate under the domed plates. Seems to work very well to my surprise.

2/2/24 first taproot popped (dubbing this AC1). By EOD DB and AC2 popped). Next day all 4 had at least started to show a taproot and transferred to jiffy pellets. 2/5/24 AC1 and 2 sprouted and showing cot leaves. AC3 hasnt popped through yet but the taproot is coming out of the bottom of the pellet (odd). DB showing nothing visible yet. Staying in jiffy pot dome and have a small 35 watt cfl on them until my light arrives Friday. Next update this weekend when I transfer them to solo cups and put them in the tent.

  7. Next time put your sprout plate on top of your fridge. Just a helpful tip but if the way you did it works hey no problem. Welcome and good luck

  8. My little one gets up there for cereal lol. I figure she will get introduced to the nuances of this hobby long before she gets introduced to the end result, but for now I want to keep things somewhat concealed.

  9. Totally understand the concealed thing. I too have recently returned to growing and it's hard as hell to shake that security brain syndrome. Even though I know it's legal now I find it hard to shake the paranoia. I'm assuming your from Ohio. I'm in the Cleveland area.

  11. Decided to transfer them to solo cups today. 1/2 ffhf and 1/2 ffof and I threw in a cup of extra perilite. Pics won’t load. I’ll try again later I suppose.

  12. Ok well AC3 is pictured above. The rest are below. Double black seems to have doubled back. Gonna let her keep trying.

  14. IMG_6322.jpeg IMG_6323.jpeg Slacked a little getting the tent and light set up once the light arrived. They’ve stretched a bit under the crappy CFL. All 4 have their first set of true leaves and all 4 working on second set. Next watering in a couple days will have their first taste of Nutes. After two doses of Nutes I’ll transplant into bigger pots.

  18. Welp it was bound to happen, I’ve run into my first issue. My humidity and temps are both a little low and I think the light was just too much in top of that. Had it at 20% and 10”, on 24/7. The light is 250w. So I have adjusted to an 18/6 light cycle and raised the light to 12”. I am also trying to raise heat and humidity but atm I’m not sure how effective it’ll be. Very unlikely IMO I have an over/under watering problem. I did give them their first taste of nutes today against my better judgement. I did half of the suggested amount of ff grow big for seedlings. 19. See the yellow leaves at the bottom? That usually means you need to transplant to something bigger
