So here we go, decided to try something different with my new grow and decided to get a cycle going. Its going to have me take 8 clones every 2 weeks, root for two weeks, then begin taking all 8 to veg the same day i take 8 more clones. After a 1 week veg, i will take 8 up to the flowering light for an 8 week flower. So this will end up with me always having 8 rooting clones, 8 plants in veg every other week, and eventually 32 plants flowering in a SOG situation. I use Fox Farm ocean forest soil, FF Grow Big, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom on a staggered cycle (nutes every 4 days, water every other 4 days.) Should be interesting, ive done quite a few other grows but this one seems like itll take the most of my time, which im actually really looking forward to. So in the pictures i have my cabinet as it exists right now, with a mother (unknown strain created by a couple friends) in the center left, cloning in the center right, veg on bottom with 55K to 65K 23W to 26W CFLs, and flowering on top with a 250W HPS cooltube and between 6 and 8 27K 23W CFLs. On the bottom right now i have 2 more strains that will become mothers, they are Blue Dream and Purple Erkle. Eventually theyll be factored into this little equation too, maybe to allow more time for mothers to grow after cloning. The way i have this going now, the cloning will begin the week of Feb 21st, with all the work happening on wednesdays. So Feb 24th, here i come.
So took clones today. Starting out a little different than originally planned. I have cloned 6 of the unknown strain (the bonsai, nicknamed Billa), 2 Blue Dream and 2 Purple Erkle. I will be cloning one of those every 6 weeks from now on, as in 8 Billa one week, wait 2 weeks, 8 BD, wait 2 weeks, 8 PE, wait 2 weeks, etc... The reason i did 2 of the others this time is to help start the growth of more nodes to clone. Anyway, went good, heres the pics, and ill be updating probably every 3 days initially, once things get into full swing it will be more often.
Everythings looking good, i have the temp in the mid 80's, humidity is around 85 - 90%, 24 hour light cycle. No signs on wilting on any of the 10, with only one showing some yellowing so far. Spraying them down once or twice a day with plain water phed to 5.8. In a couple days ill start looking for roots.
Looks like one of the clones isnt going to be making it, 1 of the erkles. No biggie, my roommate took 10 clippings from his Granddaddy just before he began flowering. About 7 of them looked good to me so im throwing them up in the mix too, should be interesting. Ill mother the fastest grower out and then start in with that too.
Lost a blue dream too, maybe couldve watched the moisture on the rockwool a little better, as it was a little more dry than i wouldve hoped.
So one Erkle gone, everything else is looking great! Got roots all over the place, getting them used to the air now and will transplant on Wed when i take more clones.
