wall mount fan vibration

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by HigherLearning4, Oct 6, 2010.

  1. as the title says. I mounted a small 10" fan on the wall and it virbating like crazy. It sound like a air plane in in my room. I tried to place a piece of rubber between the mount and the wall, but no good. Any ideas grass city?

  2. Suspend the fan with bungie cords

  3. I think there is no way to avoid it, because the the vibration resonates through the wall like an acoustic guitar. Cheap ass fans SUCK!!!!

BTW it not an exhaust fan it a oscillating fan.

  4. Oh. Maybe wrap some rubber bands on the cage of the fan to absorb vibration. Like a tennis racket. Couldn't hurt

  5. genius!!!!!!!!!

I got a couple of old head rackets im going to take those inserts off of.

    Thanks. GC pulls through AGAIN>:hello:

  6. Hey man try a thin piece of Styrofoam. I had that same problem. maybe it'll help you out
