Walking Home At Night

  1. Has anyone else ever walked home from work at night? I've been walking to and from work for the past 2 months since parking is always a bitch. I just said screw it and walked one day. I don't live far from work at all. It's about a 15 minute walk. I love walking at night. Even though I pass some sketchy looking places, everything is silent and peaceful. I like dipping into shadowy places like behind buildings to light up and enjoy the scenery.

  2. Walk home almost every night and I agree it's great. Fifteen to twenty minutes of peace and quiet

  3. That's what I love about being a night person. People with normal sleeping schedules don't know what they are missing. The complete silence that takes place in the middle of the night in unbelievably calming. Especially to someone like me that lives in an unfathomably overpopulated area that is always buzzing during the day.

I'm in a small town, less than 15,000, and when 3 am rolls around it's graveyard silent save for the crickets.

    Edit double post

  6. Sometimes, but often run into altercations, I don't even live in a 'bad' place and have been 'jumped' numerous times.  I prefer driving at night.

I love long boarding in the streets anytime past 1am, this place turns into a ghost town

Gotta ride on the fucking sidewalks with cracks and wait at stop lights for cars during the day, but at night, I am the batman, and my sector 9 is the bat mobile

  10. Dude/gal you are so with it! I love cruising down the streets with no worries for cars or anything. Loooooove when you hit those nice smooth half-level/half-hill roads that you just cruise on forever

  12. No. That twenty minutes could be spent watching TV, Smoking Cigarettes, walking the dog AND getting high

  13. i like walking around at night to smoke.
sometimes i walk to walmart at night to avoid all the people that are there during the day.

  14. I hate driving and my bike is too nice to show off around here. Why of course.:) Except I have the "prettyboy" look so I gotta watch my ass around this neighborhood.
    Quite literally...

  15.  That same silence plus the sun rising is what makes the early morning great. Nobody's ever paranoid and high at 5 or 6am.

I live 40 miles from where I work... so, no.

But back when I lived with my parents, I used to smoke up, grab headphones, and just go walk through a nearby wooded path around 2-3am. Nighttime walks are relaxing.

Edit: I too like the off-shifts. 2nd shift is the best IMO, but I'm currently on 3rd. Which is OK too, but harder to sleep. As of right now, I don't have any desire whatsoever to work "normal" hours.

  17. Graveyard shift enthusiast checking in. Gotta love that extreme peace in the middle of the night.

Plus I like not working with as many people, too noisy during the day shift in the production plant

  18. headphones on in the woods at 2-3am? Kind of an easy way to sneak up on you

I don't work at night or anything, but in the summer, night walks with a nice joint are nothing new to me. There's something about the tranquility and stillness of the night, that makes mornings with extreme activities and cars all over the place feel hauntingly unnatural.

  20. Walking is the best; especially at night time. With the crickets and the frogs at this time of year. I finish working at midnight usually, it is a good 40 minute walk.

Since weed is unavailable here in Japan; walking with a beer is quite interesting. There are always nice things to see at night :smoke:
    amen to that
