Waking up 2 hours before alarm goes off

  1. This 'ish drives me bonkers. I usually set my alarm for 5:10-5:40am. I have to be into my internship usually around 6 (its unpaid too so it blows even more, but I have adjusted pretty well to getting up at this time). The herb doesn't affect my motivation to get up in the morning like my freshman/sophomore year (college), surprisingly I have yet to be late once.

So I go to bed around 8:55pm-9:15pm, pop a melly (melatonin lol) 3mg and I usually fall asleep pretty quickly. I have my last burn sesh of the day around 7:30pmish. But I swear I seem to wake up around 3:30-4am almost every morning and I proceed to just toss and turn till my alarm goes.

My room is completely blacked out so there is no lights on in my room, plus I get up so early the moon is still up..............so the sun coming thru my blinds isn't the problem. I was thinking of either taking 1.5 of melatonin to fall back asleep, but I worry I still will be sleepy when im starting my day, or taking a time released melatonin and a normal melatonin (TR=5mg normal=3mg) when I go to sleep at 9pm, or taking a quick hit of herb to hopefully go back to sleep when I wake up too early. I would be worried about still being slightly buzzed when I clock in, I have gone in with an extremely small afterglow (but still noticeable) and I personally did not enjoy it.

Strange thing tho, when I sleep all the way thru the night, I am usually tired during the day/when waking up. But when I wake up like 2 hours before my alarm, I am not tired during the day. I always have a caffeine pill (200mg) w/ breakfast

Whaddya blades think? Do you guys have a trick to fall back asleep quickly? Maybe a combo of herb/melatonin

    thanks for the help!

  2. Sounds like you're hitting your sleep cycle right on the head, mate, and I say roll with it. If you're not tired, why change it? Join the 3AM wakeup club. You learn to love it.

  3. I would use this time (atleast once) to get baked as Fuck..

sheeeeet I never thought of that. I like to get 7-8 hours of sleep but if my mind is all geared up for getting my day started, I could roll with it. I don't have a lot of time during the day to study so I could use those 2 hours to do that. I would only be worried like at 10-11am I would get very tired. My days usually last from 6am-5pm and usually after eating and showering once I get home, its time to get baaaaaaked.

See I could go into my work (where I actually earn $) and be able to cope with being sky high, but the internship is a different story. Plus I only like to burn at night to keep tolerance at bay
    ..................
I only take the melatonin during the week because of having to go to sleep early. If I could go to bed at like midnite, I wouldn't take the melly

I've really learned to cherish my mornings. I wake up, usually without an alarm, before 4AM. I use the first hour or so to exercise and shower, and then I get to sit down with a cup of coffee to just chill, evaluate or maybe appreciate my life, and get my thoughts organized for the day. I'm at work by 6, and don't usually grab a second caffeine kick around 10. I do it out of habit more out of need though. Your body gets used to the new cycle.

The only downside is that I find it hard to keep up with my friends on the weekends. I usually crash by 2AM. I'd rather give up my nights than my mornings though. Catching the sun rise is something special.

  6. IME if I wake up in the middle of the night and try to smoke a bowl to fall back asleep it usually wakes me up more for a couple hours. Try smoking a little closer to when you go to bed.

It's more likely something you need to stop doing (sugar, caffeine, eating too late) rather than something you need (more weed, melatonin)

lmao, I munch so hardcore before bed (I workout+the 'carbs after 6' myth is exactly that ,a myth lol). I recently stopped eating cereal at night because of the extra liquid in my body causing me to piss around 3am. Also stopped eating peanut butter before bed cause it makes me thirsty and ill wake up in the middle night with bad dry mouth.

I had a dank ass sleep last night, fell asleep within 5 minutes of laying down, did wake up at like 3am tho but  I fell back to sleep within a few minutes. But my theory still holds true (great sleep=tired during the day/decent sleep=not tired during the day). I was so out of it and unenthusiastic this morning even with my normal dose of caffeine. Its 3pm here and I am beat, but not tired enough for some burnage

  8. None of that is true for me.

If I eat immediately before I fall asleep I feel shitty when I wake up and I prefer great sleep over decent sleep.

  9. my cat would wake me up anywhere from 2-3 hours before I'd have to get up to go feed him. then i started feeding him before i went to bed, but he still wakes me up anyways to show me that he's going to eat. :\\
