Wakarusa 2011

im still up in the air bout waka this year. its another great lineup, like pretty much every year. im just waitin on a few other festies to drop their lineups. who are the five you want to see most??

waka always hasa pretty good lineup, besides the fact that jam bands are always headlining there...i could def have a shit ton of fun there...but like the other poster said, gotta wait for a few more lineups

im really waiting for starscape and camp bisco, i expect big things from the both of them...then GotV and All good are possibilities too...ill def be at electric zoo as well, but thats not til september

and possibly rothbury too, IF its actually rothbury...i heard SCU might be having their own festie where rothbury used to be held, which i would not be down with, unless the lineup is insane...but with SCI headlining it idk...i guess i hate tDB but i go to their festie, partly cuz its so close tho

 

My friends, Papadosio are on the bill. I may be heading down there but like many others, I need to see what every other fest is bringing to the table before I commit.

festies arent all about bands...DJs and/or producers are where its at, at this point in my life theres not any bands i still wanna actually see

 

i def hear ya there, although i do like to mix it up with a few bands. but it looks like you have some solid shows comin up. i just saw heyoka last month and im hittin up bassnectar and mimosa in the coming months. so stoked for mimosas set

 

WAKA 2011!! this years going to be tight. the line up is stacked and the new interstellar meltdown stages are an excellent new addition. Anyone check up the big ups new site? This is my first wakarusa, anyone have some fun stories?



My summer line up looks like: Wakarusa >> Phish>> Electric Forest >> Camp Bisco>> (All Good?) >> The Big Up

 

Mimosa kills it, he was at camp bisco and waka last year. you should definitely see him at a show or at a festival this summer.

 

ive heard his normal show sets are hit or miss but he always kills it at festies


i was at bisco but was too lazy to get my as over to the dance tent, i ate 2 weed brownies in the morning and i will not be making that mistake again, made me lazy as fuck and all i wanted to do was sit in my air conditioned RV and chill til late night sets, it was sooooo fucking hot out that day, i just couldnt do it...i did make my way over to the tent for felix cartal and kill the noise tho, before the most insane thunderstorm ive ever witnessed

i saw like no music on day 3 lol, felix cartal, KTN, rusko, and silent disco, thats it lol

 

day 3 i remember everything but rusko, i walk up to the dance tent and the next thing i know i wake up in the morning wondering how the hell i got there.

damn that sucks, hope u had fun...rusko was probly my 2nd favorite set of that weekend..he KILLED it...but im soooo done with rusko sets now, seen him 3 times

and to the poster above me...skrillex sucks...i guarantee he will be a nobody by this time next year

he will be just like rusko, getting invited to all these festies this year, then NONE next year, cuz hes not legit

look at rusko, lats year he went to a LOT of festies, now idk if hes going to any...its cuz he sold out...i even saw his song Hold On track being featured on MTV like legit 3 days ago...lame as fuck, and skrillex is on that same exact path...the only difference btwn the 2 was that rusko used to be legit as fuck...skrillex was never legit...hes playing at more than a few festies this year, which honestly disgusts me...i know he will be at one im going to this year, and i will most likely not be watching his set

skrillex is the justin beiber of EDM...QFT

 

Damn he sucks, I couldn't tell from his music, so I'll guess I'll just stop listening to him now.

I thoroughly enjoy his tunes though so to each their own.

 

I heard at Wakarusa they spy on everyone using high-definition cameras.

Can someone confirm/deny?

 

They did in 06 (or 05, not sure), but there was such a huge commotion/backlash that they don't do it anymore. I'm definitely going to Waka this year, any blades camping in West Woods?
