  1. hi, im from washington state, im new to outdoor growing. I was just wondering if anyone had suggestions or tips on starting outdoor in the forest here! thanks for the help.

  2. Well, I'm in Cali, but do grow in a forested area. A couple of big things to avoid: make sure there is enough light getting thru to your plants. Your area may look good when you initially find it, but check it at several different times of the day to make sure its not getting shaded 8 or 10 hours of the day. Also, be wary of oak trees nearby. Oak leaves produce some type of acid or chemical that prevents other plants (except damn poison oak) from growing close by. And check the soil before planting, to make sure it isn't too acidic or sweet, and adjust Ph as necessary.

  3. as far as location. Look on google earth and find a clear cut in the western cascade foothills(that's what I hope to do in OR). find a clear cut that has trees 3-15 feet tall.

...ya, all my posts sound the same.
