  1. hey all, been reading a lot all winter in prep for my first grow, thanks to all for the great info here.

I got 2 super skunk and 1 northern lights, short flowering, hardy, "easy" to grow plants I'm told, good for beginners. Got them from attitude seed bank. SS is made by G13, NL is from sea of green.

growing skunk trees is a dream come true for me, I love a good skunk, always wanted to try to grow a pretty good size plant, and I'm hoping they get pretty big. Always wanted to try NL, so I'm looking forward to that, to say the least. I was psyched when I saw they both fit the strain critieria above, which is what I need here in VT.

today the plants went outside, they were started inside and were about a foot tall when i put them out. they are in 30 gallon cloth pots, fox farm/happy frog soil mix, GH nutes. Couldn't dig holes, soil is a nightmare with rocks and roots so i have covered the pots with leaves and branches.. In a few weeks the stuff around them will grow tall enough to hide the pots, plus they are well off the beaten path.

they are inside black chicken wire - invisible from like three feet away- and i put down some coyote piss and hit them with captain jack bug killer. they each got two gallons of water after the transplant. they look great at present.

Since this is my first grow i thought people might find it interesting, you guys can see if i can pull it off LOL.

heres some pics from today: first is a SS in the pot before the pot was covered- the soil was not covered in any of the plants, just hid the pot, chicken wire kept the leaves off the soil. They all looked this in the "before stealth" phase. the next is one of the skunks after the pot was covered, second is the NL, after pot was covered. The plants are bigger than they look in these pics, 10-12 inches high. they look very indica, as they should.

So, lets hope I can pull it off. Have fun following along, any advice for a first timer, pass it on!

Now lets go grow some skunk trees!

  3. two days out there and the plants look great, they seem to have handled the transplant well. anyone ever grown either of these strains outdoors? wondering how it went, would be cool to compare notes.

  4. Well, after three days the plants are going nuts. 2 inches of new growth on top, New side branches coming in as well. I'll post some updated pics next week. So far so good .

something from herbies .either og from dinafem or afghani or snowryder or blue himalya diesel im unsure ?I put 4 pots in a tree branch next day three fell and died .the mother cuts i took were from that .Last of the batch besides the other stunted one .Im going to get more beans soon .but the rest are all unknown bagseed from skunks, blueberry, trashCAN, and few others can't remember .

what strain you think I should buy next?

  13. Depends where you are and how long the growing season is. Up here, I needed indicas with a short flowering period. Think b about what you may want to smoke, them see if that strain fits the growing time in your area. If I was out west or down south, I'd be growing. Nyc diesel, jillybean or Durbin poison..I love me some sativas when I'm fishing, hiking, etc. They are just to long to finish for where I'm at here in VT.

so, after a week outside, the results have been great. each plant has grown far more than i expected, both in height and new branch growth at lower to mid plant. They look happy and healthy. The super skunks already stink like fuck.

I have to figure out a way to keep the pots better covered, the wind and rain makes the leaves around them settle down or get blown off the top 2-3 inches..

cant upload pics, get an error message each time, last time was no problem, didnt have to resize or anything. i tried resizing them to 10 pixels, still wont upload. anyone got any advice on how to upload the pics?

at this point, so far, so good :)

  15. Managed to get some pics up. first 2 are the super skunks, third is the northern lights. If you zoom in and look at the black mark on the stake, thats how tall they were at transplant into the pots a week ago....

Jillybean is one of my favorites. Only see it when I go to cali, it's not common in the northeast. attitude has non feminized seeds if you can grow indoors and feel lucky lol

  18. There are early Sativa varieties available that may work for you in Vermont. Serious 6, fresian dew, are both Sativa dominate and finish in September . Good luck!

  19. I did not know that. I will look into those for next year. Since this is my first grow, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, didn't want the weather in the fall up here to screw up a crop after all the work I'll be doing till then.

    Thanks!

  20. You might consider forcing your plants to flower early this is a method I use to ensure some good summer bud.
