Volunteers vs Employees

  1. A girl came into my shop today and asked me if I'm hieing any volunteers... I started laughing, and she asked what I was laughing at?? I said, you just contradicted yourself... she said, How?? I said, How do you hire a volunteer?? Volunteers work for free, that's why they volunteer, and you would hire someone you would pay...so how do you hire a volunteer??? Poor girl didn't know what to say...she said all dispensaries are calling employees volunteers. I said, that's because "dispensaries" are illegal in California, the California Attorney General said so in the guidelines, we are a collective. Even tough we are a non-profit, we still pay our employees, If you wanted to volunteer for us, be my guest, but don't expect any reimbursement, because as soon as I reimburse you anything you would be called an employee. Sorry folks that's just California EDD laws.

  2. Cool story bro

  3. I don't think she meant to contradict herself. I think she really just wanted to "help" but misused the word, "hire". Poor girl.

  4. Cali courts say otherwise...

California Appeals Court: Medical Marijuana Dispensaries are Legal

  5. I wasn't talking about dispensaries as places of business...I was saying the word "dispensary" is not defined under the Health & Safety code...it also says so in the California Attorney General Guidelines for non-diversion. the correct use of words is very important...

    Foe example:

Q: what's the difference between a prostitute and a porn star???

    A: a fucken CAMERA!!!

  6. oh snap?
