Volcano problem - Bud TOO sticky??

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by G13, Oct 8, 2007.

  1. I've got a new bag and this stuff is very nice. It was actually so white that up until recently I thought I got a moldy pick up! Turns out it's not the case, just some sticky, trich-covered bud. Anyway, whenever I go to grind it up to put it in my Volcano I'll see small clumps of it sort of "sticking" together. I just worry that it's not going to hit it as well and wonder if I should adjust the temperature for such crystal-laden product.

What do you think? What do those of you who own Volcanoes set your temperature to for really dank, sticky bud to ensure you're getting the most out of it?

  2. i dont own one but use one almost every day. if i want to make a good sack ill set the temp around 7.5 8. but lately we have been getting stick ass weed that balls up in the grinder and is hard to pick out of the grinder and mucks up my keif screen when i store it in that compartment. but ill just turn it up all the way it hits a little harsher and you usually cant fill the bag more than once but it depends on how much you load. just turn it up all the way it will be fine

  3. Any more thoughts on this one? Do I really wanna set it to 9?

  4. test it. i can't imagine why more trics would require a higher temp, possibly the most youre looking at is it will take longer to vape, requiring a deeper/longer hit (at norm temps).

  5. my buddy has one and when we get really sticky bud he just lets it dry out a bit and then grinds it up.

  6. Alright perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Good advice bud, thanks :D

  7. We've had a volcano for several years. One thing we discovered early on is that you can get several burns out of each load. I think this might be a solution for the original problem. We also save the leftovers in a storage container. When the market is dry, we load the leftovers (load more than the normal amount) and turn it on high. It's not like fresh, but it works.

  8. when bud is still wet you should do it at a slightly higher temp

we do the first at 5 normally but 5.5 or 6 if the bud is still wet at all
