Virginia - Headshops in 757???

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by Waverider420, Mar 22, 2010.

  1. What happened to all the friggin head shops in 757? We had Jesters on 17th, G-13, and Aardvark, fatty shak, etc, etc... Where did all the shops go? Where can I get some glass pieces without paying damn shipping??? Did they ALL get shut down in the past 8 years???? I know Fatty Shak in the FX flea market got burned down; but did they reopen somewhere???

  2. I remember when the 757 was the 804, Can't help ya now,I've been in the Fla. Keys since 1993. I was raised in Va. Bch. & my mom, brother & sister are still there. I remember back in late '70's & early to mid '80,s there was Danny Tegarden's on 19th & Pacific Ave. He was a Native American who was about 65-70 years old & ran a vinyl record shop & sold acrylic pieces, I'm sure buy now everything I knew has changed.
This was last piece I bought from Danny in 1985. It was retired in 1992

  4. Ha! I remember the good ol days of 804 too and the changing of zip codes (was in Chesapeake at the time). It's nice to know there is actually people my age or older on here because for awhile I was thinking everyone was about 12-20 years of age. I was still in Cali back in the 80s (move here in 90s after the quake); but I remember all the good shops we had back in the day (a few are mentioned above) but they are all gone and it seem's that since I am allowed to open up again, "if you willz", that the city or area is shut off. I hate ordering crap from the internet..... but I may have no other choice...

Winston?? How friggin far is that? I drive a V8 SUV.... I think I'll save the gas an order online. Get the wife a yoda piece from grasscity is probably cheaper than the gas to Winston.... thanks for the help though!

I'm digging that piece man. It's got such an old school feel and I'd bet a lot of history. You say it was retired, but do you still keep it out for display or use it on special occasions ever?

EDIT: Just noticed the KISS sticker. That piece just screams 80's in so many ways. It would look so awesome nestled in between my Atari 2600 & 5200. (I realize 2600 is pre-80's)

  7. Sweet. Thanks for the information. I should be up that way this week for work... :hello:

  8. I've been to aardvark and space station in norfolk.

  9. Yeah it is a throwback, Ya just don't see the wooden slide anymore,8-1/2 inches tall this piece is not used anylonger it developed a hairline crack on the downstem. It didn't come with the Kiss logo on it. I simply cut a logo out of a mag. & taped to the base with clear tape. If the piece could talk it would have some great stories,It was my road bong when I spent a year working for a touring Metal band.350 days living in an RV & hotel rooms playing bars from Mich. to Fla. & back again. GOOD TIMES

  10. looks like you have a few options. i know there are a couple decent places in durham nc, and woodbridge, va but your best bet is going to be the place i happen to live in, richmond. katra gala has a great selection and some real professional stuff, but the prices can be a bit high. they also still sell spice. happy corner (a block away) is alot less classy but makes up for it with some cool pieces although idk what the quality on them is like since i only buy from katra gala. also theres a place called kulture clothing or something like that downtown but ive never checked it out. i bought a 185 dollar kaos bong on my 18th birthday which is still going strong today and this past weekend i just bought a solid little bowl (which im baked off of right now). basically, if youre close to the 804, richmonds a good place to pick up paraphernalia. wow that really rambled on.....

  11. Come to Kulture, we'll take god care of you. Plus you get GC 10% off.

  12. HA! I'll let you know when I head up to Richmond next time to get my hookup discount! Saw your glass collection post... damn! Can't wait to hit up your store. But since it's like an hour and a half away or with TRAFFIC 2-3 hours you better have a pipe loaded up to take off the edge! I hate traffic and driving....:devious:

But mad props to Kulture and their collection my Richmond friends shop there all the time... but to bad your up there and not near the beach with all the colleges and tourist... you know you could move and set up shop down here so I would not have to drive so far.. err for better profits..

  13. 757 cops, dunno about that one. They shut down the beach hard a few years ago. If you leave early to come down on a weekday traffic should be no problem.

  14. yeah man I know, its hard to find headshops around here. There is one on Jefferson Avenue though, as well as plenty in virginia beach.

  15. Yeah I got a piece off the one on J. Clyde Morris BLVD, Outer Edge Gifts... good selection but higher prices than I expected.

There are actually no more glass shops in Va Beach. They all got shut down a few years back. So that probably corresponds to Outer Edge gifts..

  16. That's so awesome. I wish I could someday have something with history like that, but glass never really gets that "retro" feel to it. The wooden slide is so damn cool, it makes me want to try my hand at making my own.

  17. I believe he was referring to Fantasy on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News, which is very much in business: Fantasy Home Page (I was in there last week.) I got a lovely 12 inch reflective (thick) glass bong for $35 about 6 months ago. The bitch is resilient as hell too, excellent deal.

I party down in Newport News about twice a month. I have a buddy that goes to C. Newport Uni.

Edit: There's another one around there somewhere whose name escapes me at the moment. I'll post it up tomorrow if I can remember to call my bud about it.

  18. Next time I'm up there I'll check it out. There is a few glass shops (or a glass shop) in the Flea Market the someone else posted. But it sucks that all the shops are on that side of the tunnel. I hate that side of the tunnel :D

  19. i love kulture! :hello:

  20. We love you too! :)
