I was wondering if a Carson MagniScope (3x/8x/30x) Combination Monocular, Magnifier & Portable Microscope. Would be good enough to view trichomes to determine when bud is ready. Yeah, 30x would be OK, about the minimum magnification I would recommend. But I would get a different piece -- either the cheap Radio Shack pocket microscope or a jeweler's loupe found on eBay.
