You're not required to answer any questions if you're not under arrest or being detained, and especially if your miranda rights haven't been read to you.
And especially since the police are legally allowed to lie to you but if you treat them the same way, it of course is illegal. There is nothing you can say that will "help" you - might as well just keep your mouth shut.

Just think how much money the state extorts from illegal drugs. You should get some statistics for that!
