Hello I have a 4x4 7 foot tall tent. I'm running a vespar 1200w dimmable light. I think it's to big but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Can someone tell me what I need my light distance at? I had it at 36inchs on last grow towards the end of flowering it started fox tails. I think that was mainly do to the super soil i used. I also had 7 autos in 3 gallon pots. This time I'm going to try 4 in 5 or 7 gallon hydroponics. I've included a couple pictures.

Think the 1 you posted is a little different. This 1 says 36 in for flower. I'm having a hard time keeping it cool. I keep outside room temp around 70 deg. I have a 6 inch inlet forcing air from my room in and a 6 inch exhaust going outside no carbon filter. It still wants to get up 80°to mid 90°s with tent closed. Not sure how to cool it down so I leave the tent open. Any suggestions are appreciated. ILive in the middle of 40 acres so no neighbors to worry about the smell.
If the room temp outside your tent stays around 70....you just need to get better air exchange I'm there to lower your temps......maybe try both fans blowing air out of the tent with a tent venting flap opened for air to come in??
I was more referring to the actual wattage of those types of lights than the height setting both of them draw 545 watts from the wall meaning they are 545watt lights not 1200watt, at 50 watts per square foot it comes up a little short on power for a 4×4
I understand that, guess I'll look into the board's you are talking about. I can allways use this for my mother plant since I can dim it down. I have a Kingtut feminized I've been wanting to make my mother. That was from my 1st grow. I made sure to save 1 for a mother. Hopefully my hydro grow will be a success. Thanks for the input.
No problem its actually one of the highest performing lights of this type I've seen and it's close to covering your space you could add something small in flower that light is more than enough for veg though . Good luck
That was my 1st grow had 2 Feminized. Tried to scrog it like a dummy to much for 1st grow. Had a 2x3 tent 2 plants took it over. Tent was only 4 foot tall. . They smell, taste and smoke was great. It produced a ton of Kief I was pleased. Last 2 grows have been autos just let them grow. Sorry pictures weren't the best. I would recommend it.
