very first(fun) experience trying to learn

    so ive read alot about lights diffrent types and what not but i got a couple questions for you guys :D
    but first a little info about my setup and what im tryin to do.. its a low budget deal i got..

    i got 1foot by 1.5 foot space 3 feet tall. lined with dull side of aluminum foil. i cant have the plants get big at all. i need them to be bush like and dwarf plants it you please... very very limited on space. i heard about flowering them 2 weeks after they sprout?
    i was wondering whats the best soil?
    what kind of lite for flower stage? (if flowering 2 weeks after sprout is a option)(CFL?)(other?)(watt?)
    if a fan is absolutely necessary?

    i heard somethin about having the lights on the side of the plants surrounding so it grows wide not tall?

    the seeds i have a friend gave me i have no idea what they are good or not.. but they sprouted and are ready to plant in soil. and he said he got them from a good source. I honestly dont smoke im a green thumb and just am intrested to see if i am capable of growing :)... if i yield bud im giving it to my friend in return for the seeds. thanks for the advise or tips guys in advance :D

    STOP!!!! DO NOT USE ALUMINUM FOIL! It'll reflect far more heat than light! Either paint it white, get some metal tape from home depot, or at the very least a $3 emergency blanket from walmart.

    With cfl's you can have the plant basically touching it as long as there is a fan to blow it away. I've had my plant grow into my hood and cfl's and with a single 6" fan, no heat and no damage. (saliva on the closet on first grow, vegg'd too long... Fun though :). )

    With that space you probably want to turn lights to 12/-2 (flower) at 6-8 inches. With good airflow and an indica dominant plant you may be able to get away with 10-12 inches, depending on light setup. All dependsnpn heat and strain. On average it triples from vet to full flower height, some less, some more.

    Awesome okay thanks for the advice! I didn't know that about aluminum, foil I'm taking it down as we speak! Okay then the only thing I'm wondering is what type of CFL till its 6 inches tall? and what CFL when I start to flower? I'm going get foxfarm ocean Forrest because down the road I will be growing more. that good? thanks for the help so far Tommatt
