Hey blades, so over Christmas break I plan to head on up to Vermont or New Hampshire to do some skiing. Problem is, I haven't been up their in years and I have no idea which mountains are any good. So I'm looking for some locals takes on what I should check out. I'm a good skier so anything you have I want to hear.
In vermont, ive been to killington. Im not sure where youre from but killington is one enormous mountain! Ive also been to stratton but not skiing, the place basically has an entire village at the base of the mountain and it also looks like a great mountain. Hope ya have fun!
killington has been the best so far this season, ive been there and Loon mountain so far, heard sunday river up in maine is prety good for what we have...weathers been warmer so theres really only man made snow up there and its been super soft
I've always been a sucker for Loon Mtn. Loon Mountain - Lift & Trail Report Note - Gondola Express = Open (honestly that's all you really need right there..... the trails are optional in my opinion. You give me a Gondola to hot box , and I'm a happy dude).
killington and sunday riv both have gondolas as well, loon is cool but usually so crowded. killington actually has like 2 or 3 gondolas
New Hampshire has Loon, Ragged, WV, bretton woods, gunstock, cannon, and a couple others like Pat's Peak and Tuckerman Revine... If youre more close to the west side of NH, you can check out Granite Gorge I think is its name, it's in Keene. Its okay but youll probably see a lot of KSC skidouches. Out of all the above, I'd say the nicest place is Tuckermans, because you have to hike it. But if you really want difficult skiing, Rumble at Sugarbush is INTENSE. You can also check out Cannon. Thats a pretty nice place.
dude u gotta hotbox the gondolas lol my dad gave me that idea originally. out of all the places ive been to in NH they have all been pretty good tho
I would have to agree with iLP. Tuckermans is different. If you're looking to hotbox a gondola, it's not your place. For some, the hike is almost a right of passage, and does offer a sense of accomplishment which you won't find on a ski lift. Cool place, cool experience, it's a must-do. Growing up in NH was nothing short of kickass.
honestly, all over..... moved a lot, and didn't really care for it (the moving part)... VT too.... liked VT just as much as NH.
