So ive been vegitarian for 2 years now and bascilly have had most of the same things i wanna see what else my taste buds can taste so Any of you other vegheads no any great recipies or pics u wanna show of some food arts hahah lets see whats up :^! blowin smoke
Well you can still enjoy candy and such since there's no meat in them. Well what kind of vegetarian are you? Do you still eat fish, poultry?
Thought this said vagitarian munchies.. well fruit is pretty good, Mangoes and watermelons are the best there is, maybe pineapple.
Yeah, there's this trend going around my "hood" where the first "fruit" you ate when your high is going to be a food you'll eat a lot of when your high. Me for example I just love the taste of oranges, while my brother enjoys watermelon.
Popcorn, fruit, chips/salsa/dips, wheat thins, anything made out of potatoes including everything from like fries to instant mashed potatoes to hashbrowns, etc, hummus and veggies (Don't knock it till you try it. I LOVE hummus. lol), zucchini/rhubarb/etc bread. Really, I feel like most snacks aren't made with meat and all of these things are just vegan things I eat. lol You have like the whole world of snacks including all of the stuff you can make with cheese and such. Just do a search for munchies and I bet most of it will be vegetarian. lol
Watermelon with finely sliced kaffir lime leaf and ground black pepper. It's just...an interesting dessert I made. Lightly grilled enoki mushrooms with chopped garlic and light soy. Throw some sesame seeds over the top. Vege-burger - a real one. One slice of grilled eggplant, 4 long slices of grilled zucchini, a side of grilled capsicum with vegetarian (many commercial mozarellas are now vegetarian, look on the back for "vegetarian rennet or non rennet) cheese melted over the top. Serve in some bread with finely sliced iceberg lettuce, spanish onion, sliced tomatoes and snow-pea sprouts. Add whatever seasonings you like to whatever elements you like. Tofu - cut firm tofu into really small pieces, and put into a lightly oiled (spray oil is better) pan, pre-heated. Sear all the sides of it, toss while seasoning...gives it texture so you're not eating goop. Add chopped chilli, ginger, garlic, and some red pepper paste. Throw in some finely sliced spring onions and/or chives. Done. Wakame - the shit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mushroom soup. Get however many, and however many types of mushrooms you want, chop 1/3 roughly, blend the shit out of the rest with a clove of garlic, salt, pepper, some thyme and some sage (not soo much sage) Pan-fry the big pieces of mushrooms, sit them aside. Get some vegetable stock ready, or make some. Like a litre and a quarter - Heat this up until it's hot, have it nearby. Make a 40g/40g "roux" (lookit up - Roux, The plot thickens | The Kitchen Hacker) and cook it until it's at "blonde" stage, in a BIG pot. When it's at blonde stage, start slowly pouring in your hot stock. Stir while you pour it in, making sure each bit of the liquid is absorbed into the roux before adding/stirring more. When that's all in you'll have a semi thickened liquid. Add your chopped mushrooms and the blended mix. Add some fresh cream. Have a taste - Season more as required. The salt, pepper, sage, thyme. Cook it some more. That should do it. Awesome soup. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grilled cheese sandwiches, or cheese and tomato. Simple awesomeness. Pumpkin - cut pieces, remove seeds, leave the skin on. Cut a little bit down into each piece - kind of how you cut a mango, but deeper. Spray a little bit of oil onto them, then massage in some: Salt pepper. Sugar (brown if you've got it) cinnamon Nutmeg or mace. ...Roast that shit.... Plain/vanilla yoghurt with sliced banana and passionfruit. Easy. Bad-ass. All things mushroom. All things potato. Tangellos! Kumatos! Danish fetta! Vego food is only boring/shitty if you make no kind've effort...but as well, meat-substitution is generally crap too. There's so much you can do with mad fresh flavours of the world - and do yourself a favour, stock the FUCK up on herbs and spices, experiment with them, become familiar with a huge range of varied flavours and nothing you make will ever be bland. Erm, so that's all I could think of, off hand.

Just one that came to mind - Grilled tomatoes with a touch of salt, sugar and rosemary, served on toast. Bah SO GOOD. Also polenta is great, just SO many things can be done with it. Super filling too. Pretty versatile for both sweet and savoury.
Veggie friends!! are you a good cook? My favorite is making home made pesto pizza... all vegan cheese...
I enjoy my grilled cheese a bit burnt, a bit of ketchup, a slice of pickle or 2 and some grilled tomatoes. Definitely tastes amazing!
