Hey everyone, So recently at the start of 2016 me and my girlfriend have decided to go full vegan. She has been a vegetarian for over 10 years and I have eaten meat for over 10 years I personally love all the vegan dishes we have prepared so far and think some of them taste better than the meals I was eating before. But I'm having a real hard time gaining weight or at least staying at a reasonable weight for my height. I'm 6'1 148lbs and I'm about to be 21. I'm trying to have a good understanding of what I should be eating everyday to get my required nutrition and to stay away from sicknesses as well! I've been doing heavy research and most of the articles I have read say don't focus on one type of food for protein or carbs but just eat a little of everything. What is your take on this? Do my other veganites eat the same meals for a week then switch? Or how do you prepare for your meals? I truly love being vegan and would love anybody to share their input on this subject! If I could get some help with some filling meals that would be great too! I'm a college student so the less time consuming the better but I don't mind it on the weekends since partying isn't a big deal in my life! I definitely avoid artifical flavors, colors, high fructose corn syrup, and monosodium glutamate Thanks all! Sent from my SM-N920V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
6'1 at 148 lbs... I weigh more or about the same as you and I'm like 5'6. My advice? Smoke more weed and eat a shit ton of Oreos. They're vegan I think
Thanks for the advice man but I avoid foods and snacks with high fructose corn syrup Sent from my SM-N920V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
My sister has been vegan for about 15 years, at 30 years old she is starting to gain weight. I guess it's either luck or you will eventually find out how to feed your body. I know Buddhist monks that are vegan and strong as can be, doing 1 finger pushups and jumping in the air and landing flat on their body very rigid.
Just Research Vegan Athletes they should have all the answers you need. I've met some Huge Vegans. Google and Youtube are your friends.
