I always start my first veg day as soon as my plant pops out the soil. However I know different people do different ways for example first is seedling stage actually though as said I start veg first day of breaking soil. When do you guys start first day of veg?
If i take a rooted cutting( been rooting for 2 weeks) and a seedling(first day of breaking soil) placed them side my side are they both at the same stage in veg?
Of course not. The rooted cutting is already two weeks old. Give the seedling two weeks to root and they'd be the same. Not a good comparison dude.
I total agree with you, so whats a fair comparison? IMO both plants should have a good root mass and both plant have 2 sets of small fan leaves, I would say this is a good comparison, both plants should grow at the same rate, Chances are, the seed and the cutting is started on the same day(the seed and cutting need 2 weeks before they start the veg stage).
Day its planted in the soil . So seed pops . Big enough roots to put in soil plant it and count days . And idk if it was you or not . I commented you were vegging to tall and wasting time flannigin . Could of been somebody else . Here is a old post i think it was 7 to 10 inch total veg height .before flip to 12/12. . Its here . Its finally here ! OMG led yield difference
Not me, but that's a good point, if you start both in jiffy's, the day you pot them up in soil is day I in veg.
Point being that a seed that's just sprouted has nowhere near the root mass of a cutting that's been rooting for two weeks. That's why it's not a good comparison.
I count it from sprout as a convenience thing. I know that when it sprouts is four weeks from flower. When does an auto actually start vegging? No idea. If it's two weeks from sprout, they only get two weeks of veg I guess. I just know what works for me.
This is why I posted this topic. I like other folks opinion but wasn't even thinking about autos or clones so thanks for bringing that up. Thanks for all everyone's opinion. As said I start the day my seed pops above dirt. On the other hand I have let my sprouts get long enough in napkins before that I planted those in soil and left the seed leaves and first set above soil of course and called that first day also. Glad to hear people's thoughts because I was wondering if I was doing something wrong lol. I have saw some people clearly lie have 2 weeks old plants they say be huge and topped twice has to be a 5 or 6 weeks old plant but they say 2. I saw on a different forum the 1's that comes to mind is why I was also wondering. That being said I saw in hydro after just a few weeks especially with clones plants that really surprised me but I was just wondering thoughts.
no but both will grow at the same rate and can be flipped at the same time i do it all the time clone vs seed lol
well a 30 day veg if counted from when the seeds pop dirt is a short veg time IMO a 30 day veg for me is more like 6 weeks from sprout i start counting when i pot up hows that for confusing? its only a number plants cant read calendars HOW is it going FLANNY? have they sprouted? how many?
I have 5 ayahuaska purple but only 2 have sprouted good with leaves the other 3 are busting but not completely out their shell and I have 2 blueberry cracked I put into rooters. Should not be long looking like 4 purple 2 blueberry im a little confused on the number yet but soon
I'm thinking this and what soso said as well I mean the first couple weeks are getting ready to veg really but even so I start day 1 like said but yeah it takes a couple weeks to actually start
whats up buddy is your garden up and running? i sure hope you have 8 started minimum did you make a journal yet?
