what ive come across from various posts, its not the weeks but the height of your plant. somewhere said 20-30 inches is perfect for a larger plant since it will double its size in flowering. i only have a 30 inch space, so i can only make my plant 22 inches tall if you start flowering at 16 inches, it may grow another 16+ inches....im no expert just passing along the info
Usually you want to get your plant atleast a foot tall or veg for about 4 weeks before flowering, best of luck!
whats your grow area height? minus your bulbs at the top...since i got 30 inches im gonna wait till its 14 inches in height then flower. you can always top it

Check out my grow journal. my plants are about 3 - 31/2 weeks into veg. def too small still to force to flower although doable. look at my pics, youll see what i mean. if u force to flower so soon ur only gonna get a bowl full or a blunt n a half maybe.. n after 3 months, u coulda jus bought a bag for all u spent!
