While sizing up my closet grow needs, of course I have to consider air filter size. After arriving at the idea that a 250-275 cfm filter would comfortably exceed my needs, I look into prices. To my surprise the same air filter is up for *very* different prices. Why is this? Can I expect them to have been stored improperly or something else to decrease the effectiveness? Is there a reason I should buy the pricey, or just go for the cheapest? You could get 6 from the cheapest for the price of 1 from the most expensive. what's up with that. hey Chaneux, none of those filters you showed can be refilled. They all have expiration dates. Maybe give these guys a look. They manufacture in the USA.
Not gonna lie, that website looks sketch as fuck. I'd have to have ample community feedback to order from somewhere like that. After googling them I found very little info. Anyway, a refillable filter would be nice though. I have two very large scrubbers that have been made refillable, but as that goes, I've been having a hard time finding the right size activated charcoal for a good price.
ok, cool. No offense meant. How long have you used their product, for what scale of growing, and have you repacked your carbon? If so, where did you get the carbon?
none taken. I can understand your response based on their lack of esthetics, but yea, they just make em and sell em. I still have a filter from about 2015. I repacked it a couple times, but did add some black pantyhose the last time just to patch it. I used the stuff from the petshop, can't remember the brand. I think they use it in the aquarium industry to filter the water. I would hit the contact to the people I referred and ask them; they can probably find a discount/bulk supplier
Right on. I was reading on another site talking about how charcoal that is uniformly 3mm-4mm in size is best for filtration density w/o worrying about it compacting and clogging. Thanks for the info.
