Vaporizing/Smoking after Oral Surgery

Discussion in 'General' started by florielora, Feb 15, 2013.

  1. Yesterday I had Oral Surgery for a gum graft because my gums were receding on a few of my top teeth. The procedure went perfectly, I have a few stitches that will dissolve in my mouth and I'm on anti-biotics for the next week or so.

I have no pain anywhere in my mouth, I didn't even have any pain immedietly after the surgery so I don't have any worries about the current state of my mouth.

I am questioning the ability to smoke though. My dentist told me to lay off of things like straws and smoking (I'm assuming cigarettes) because of the sucking you have to do with your mouth.

Does anyone know or think it would be okay to use a homemade vaporizer to smoke from? My only options right now are smoking from a pipe or using a lightbulb vaporizer.

Thank you in advance to any responses I appreciate it :)

  2. The reason they don't want you to suck on anything is getting dry sockets. They suck! What I would do to be safe is just start smoking in about a week. Doctors say 24 hours but I would like to be safe! I had to get wisdom teeth removed, and after 3-4 days I was smoking again.

Do NOT make a makeshift vaporizer out of light bulbs! There's harmful chemicals they put on the walls to make the light coil to last longer. I'd buy a real vaporizer.

  3. Even if I clean out the lightbulb thoroughly with salt water etc.?

I didn't actually have any teeth removed so I'm not worried about dry sockets :p

  4. Hell no do NOT use a light bulb. I don't care how hard you scrubbed it.

on a related note, my friend had this same gum graft thing with some white patch looking doothingy on his front 4 lower teeth. He decided to smoke cigarettes anyway. He fucked it up and had to go back to the dentist

just listen to the dentists orders please...

  5. Alright I'll just give it time. Thanks lol :p

  6. Just did a quick search, if you clean it out really good it will be okay to use. But I still would recommend getting a real vaporizer or just smoking out of a pipe, personally I don't like making my own smoking devices as I don't know how healthy or safe they are to use. :D

  7. If you can cover the area up you should be fine. I did a little research because I don't want to take any if those painkillers when my wisdom teeth have to get removed.

  8. absolutely not, 100% not smoking and still not worth vaping unless you are a junkie. Vaping is definitely still bad for this.

Seriously just mix like 0.7 weed (.4-1.0) with organic peanut butter (more natural oils for better saturation) and bake it on a cracker in some aluminum foil for 30 minutes on 335*.

You will get mad baked, and healthiest way to do it, especially in this situation
