Currently the only thing I use to smoke is a straight glass, roor bong. I really need to make the switch to vaporizing so that I can take it easy on both my lungs and my wallet through more efficient use of herbs. I really don't plan to travel with the vaporizer, it would just be something I'd want sitting in a drawer that I could pull out and use after work. I've been turned off by vaporizers in the past because of the couple I have used they were always way too tricky to get to vaporize at the proper temp. I'm willing to invest in a quality vaporizer. What would you suggest for someone who wants a lasting, home vaporizer? Also, how long should I quit toking before switching? I imagine that my tolerance is a joke after taking giant bong rips every day.
Don't have to quit toking for a certain time, just switch. Desktop: Da Buddha ($150), Extreme Q($150), Silver Surfer $220 Portable: Solo ($160), PAX ($250) I own a Da Buddha and Solo, would recommend either one to a heavy bong smoker If you're near Chicago you pack the vape and you can use it
Dude I might take you up on that offer though not offered to me. Gonna replace my log style purple days. Would like to try those two out, should have some good home grown by spring. we will have to chat again.
If you want to continue to use your bong and vape through it, I would suggest that you look at both the LSV from 7th Floor as well as the Cloud.
I'm sorry, all I heard was home-grown, haha Shoot me a PM whenever, I'm sure we can figure something out you really plan on hiking over here from MI? True, but and of the other 7th floor vapes (DBV and SSV) still do a good job vapor-bonging. In fact even my Solo will milk a 12" tube with ease, but those 2 are sort of designed for easier vapor-bonging
I bought The Iolite Wispr. It was like 300. It was worth it, but needs butane for it to work. It's nice and somewhat silent, doesn't smell at all if you regularly clean it. Plus it comes in different colors. What else could you want
A cheaper vape? For 3 bills I would have bought a PAX or Solo before the Wispr. Heck I would have bought a SSV for that price. Paid $160 for each my DBV and Solo, think I'm set for atleast 3 years, if not longer I do want to try out a Purple Days mrsmich, maybe pack that with you
They do do a good job, but..........you still have that vapor going through all that tubing with the DBV/SSV versus just the glass on glass and ceramic heating element that the vapor comes in contact with through the LSV, which for some, equates to a much improved taste. Same goes for the Cloud. I would also suggest the VripTech being that it is truly an all glass air path, but it is a bit fragile and prone to breakage because of all of the glass used. Another thing to take into consideration is that the OP mentioned that he/she had a tough time getting the right temp dialed in. With ALL of the 7th Floor products, the temp is directly tied into two things, the temp setting as well as your draw speed, along with other things like dryness of herb, fineness of grind, how tight or lose the bowl is packed, how much you put in the bowl, etc etc. With the Cloud, draw speed is taken out of that equation and therefore, makes it a whole bunch easier to dial in that temp. While I agree that the DBV/SSV will work great with glass, I think the Cloud and the LSV provides a better alternative.
if you want something less tricky i would suggest getting a bag style vaporizer. no draw technique required and ridiculously easy to show friends how to suck in air
Yup, for party situations, nothing beats a good bag vape, either the Volcano, the Extreme, or the HerbalAire. Personally though, I just don't like the high air to vapor ratio as compared to a good whip or direct draw vape. But in party situations, the idiot proof of bags can't be beat.
Yea it was expensive, but I paid 200 on it. I got a discount on it. I'll look up the ones your talking about
exactly. i had a party at my place and was passing around the bag. somebody dropped it on the ground and just looked up at me with this look of disbelieve like he broke it. I just stared at him and was like DUDE COME ON! YOU OWE ME $600 FOR A NEW VOLCANO NOW!!!!!! sadly he thought i was serious. lol i had to let him down easy and told him he could pay me in installments
I'd look at the Vape Xhale Cloud. I got this vape on an impulse buy when the company won 2012 Cannabis Cup Product of the Year and had a $100 off sale. The Cloud is great. It's designed to be used with bongs so you can use it with your existing collection. It fits into any 18mm bong. The whole unit is made in the USA, and the glass is all hand blown in the states too. It has an all glass vapor path which means your vapor isn't coming into contact with potentially carcinogen laced bags or rubber tubes. The temperature control is simple; it's a dial that goes like a clock from 7:00am to 7:00pm. The temps the unit is capable of is 0-500F. I find right around the 3:00 setting to be ideal for me. I have had it at full blast many times and have never combusted material. The Cloud is also great at efficiency. I load the bowls about half full (.1-.2 grams) and get 2-3 rips off each one. The vapor density is suggestive of the name; think thick, milky clouds. It's easy to use. Just sit the glass on top, or in your bong, and hit it. The harder you hit it, the more the Cloud increases the temp to provide consistent vapor; automatically. I made the switch from combusting overnight. I don't see a need to take a break personally. Just switch over and start reaping the benefits of clearing out your lungs
Vapexhale is easily the best out there, there's no question. Its also meant for use with glass, which is definitely best coming from a bong smoker. The LSV by 7th floor is probably your other best bet.
I've tried out about 5-6 different vaporizers and none of them even compare to my Volcano. The person bitching about too much air, what temperature are you burning it at and how are you grinding your material also are you keeping your shit even clean? Any bowl I vape between 5 and 6 I get torched and there is a good amount of vapor in every single hit for atleast 4 good bag fills. I've noticed if I let a lot of vapor poo build up in the solid valve and the bag attachment I don't get nearly as much vapor out of it. I clean everything and change my bag about once a week/every other week if it is getting light use that week.
