Vaporizer Temp Readout and related vape q's

  1. Hey all,
I'm in the market for a vaporizer (recently got hooked by a friend) and from what i've read, it's better to invest in a good one. I did some research last night and settled on Da Buddha. There was a nice one on ebay for $160. This morning I am questioning whether I want a digital temperature gauge. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Does a vape with a bag make that much of a difference, or does a whip based one work just as well?

Also, I regularly buy mids (30 for a 1/4), I don't think I'll enjoy a vape any less than if I would be buying the good stuff?

  2. 1. Not sure about Da Buddha (just never heard about it, doesn't mean it's not top notch)
    2. I've heard that using a whip vape is actually more efficient for your weed usage, believe it or not. This means that the Volcano isn't really the best vape out there. It's all about preference- a bag can hold a bunch of hits for a decent amount of time, whereas a whip is a one-time go.
    3. I own a Volcano, and I am currently looking for a new vaporizer (my Volcano is ~3 years old and I want something new, but don't think I'm going for another Volcano)

    Hope this helps.

    Oh, and

    4. No, you will be enjoying your vape just as much as everyone else.

  3. Thanks, i've heard lots of DBV, they also made the silver surfer if you've heard of that. Thanks for the info, looking for more input from others :)

  4. hey man i will share my advice.

i ordered the extreme q4 sunday off ebay. seller called myrubberneck. it was $186 shipped. has digital readout and comes with a ton of accessories. has a remote, and these new cyclone bowls which make it just as good as the dabuddah or whatever. for $26 extra i made the jump for the extreme. i researched for 2 weeks straight and decided on the extreme. i dont like dabuddahs manual heat knob. cant be precise./ the extreme has triple temp sensors and a 360deg swivel top wand. also comes with bag attatchment and two bags.

if your willing to wait till tonight im going to try it out with some blueberry hyrdo and afghan kush.

    + grasscity! :smoke:

  5. I will wait, please report back :p You have much vape experience?

  6. Here's the thing about vapes with temp gauges.
There in no way to test the temp of the air that's passing over you herb so its useless, da Buddha is a great vape though. I personally have the SSV, and I think its awesome

Here's the deal. If you're the type of person that really likes getting into the details of things and would like to experiment with varying temp settings to see how each temp will affect you, than get a vape with a digital readout. If you're the type of person that doesn't want to be bothered with such things and would just rather sit down and vape without futzing with all the detail stuff, then you don't need a digital readout.

But if you are a medical user that wants to specifically target a specific symptom of an ailment, a digital would be the way to go.

If you really want to get into it, here is an interesting thread regarding using various temps: http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=2197
