Vaporizer ceramic heating, safe?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by Vaporseeker, Aug 10, 2006.

  1. I own a Vaporwarez Vaporcannon with a ceramic heating element. While I was poking around the web for info, I came across this warning about ceramic heating elements.

    Q. Do you sell vaporizers with the ceramic heating element?

    A. No, we do not. Several of our knockoffs use ceramic heaters and
this alternative sounds like a great idea (in fact, we were looking at it a
few years ago). The problem is that while the hard ceramic itself is safe, the materials used inside and at the end caps are hazardous. Not only do these bonding agents off-gas, but they are porous and allow chemicals to come out of the heater. We at Vaporbrothers would strongly advise against inhaling off one of these devices; it is not safe. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

    Thank you.

Does anyone have any info on this score? I am wary of the above warning from Vapor Brothers since they are trying to push their new "gnes" heating element in a field where ceramic is the most popular option. There is also the fact that Vaporwarez--in so far as I can tell--is the OEM company for Vapor Brothers and I imagine there may be some bad blood there since the company divided. Any informed information would be helpful. Thanks.

  2. My friend e-mailed them the same thing and got the same response from the same exact person.

I think it's just them trying to sell a product, and how else are they supposed to shy you away from the competition?

The bottom line is vaporizers are not heating up to temperatures that would cause any metal or the ceramic to burn.

Vapobros is saying those things because the bottom line is the ceramic heater is more durable and there is nothing else they can say that is bad about it. Sure if you use the thing at over 400 degrees you might have to worry about something happening, but that's way over the point people normally use a vaporizer at.

I would think someone would have said something long ago about their VapoWarez/Silver Surfer/other one that uses a ceramic rod tasting really funny sometimes, which if "off gasing" was occuring you would hear about.

Personally I believe that ceramics are safe, and more durable against blowing the element. However the soldering iron method is very safe, and I know users that have had them for very long amounts of time using them everyday all day- so the VapoBros is a quality unit.
