vaping doesnt get me as high

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by smokereefer, Jan 13, 2010.

  1. Anyone else agree? I have used 4 different vapes, including the volcano, but i feel as if nothing gets me higher than a bong. Vapes simply give me a mellow feeling but not so much a high. I do get munchies and sometimes laugh alot, but its nothing compared to a good bong rip sesh that puts me in a new world.

  2. You're doing it wrong then. Vaporizers are scientifically proven to utilize THC much more efficiently than combustion. If you're not getting a stronger effect then you're not using the vapes correctly.

  3. i took around 6 bags from the volcano to the dome all using different temps. Dont get me wrong i was "high" but it wasnt nearly as powerful as my couch-lock bong rips that get my brain lost for hours. To me, i did not get as high, and i dont understand the whole use less bud theory everyone say's. .3 will get me rippped in the bong, but the vape, not so much.

  4. The vape high is definately not as strong and is not meant to get you blasted. Its the mixture of the carcinogens of the burning smoke and the thc that get you blasted, just as a newport increases my high....

  5. yeah this is true

having a vape and then a hookah or a cigarette can really get one going

  6. But that's worse for you than just smoking the weed...

  7. Don't people vape because it's a healthier alternative than smoking? Why do that that and then light up a cig? That, sir, sounds like quite the contradiction :p

  8. Im surprised, this is for the most part very true. +rep man!

  9. there is no direct combustion if i am smoking tobacco from a hookah, just vapor and lovely flavor. so i'm really smoking vapor all night and getting both a weed and nicotine feel. i don't smoke cigarettes, just using that as an example.

  10. I get higher off my vape than anything that I smoke out of. Not even a question.

  11. Yes it does, it's a different type of high though because when you vaporizer there are not cannibinoids that go into your body like they do when you smoke.

  12. Then you haven't truly experienced a vape, if that's what you believe. Carcinogens only aid in causing the "cloudy head" effect, which is just one reason I like vaping more...much more "clear headed".

I've been smoking for quite a while now and I've never gotten as high off of smoking as I do from vaporizing. Sometimes, vaporizing (if I'm not careful) makes me feel almost "too high". Definitely creates some insane couchlock for me and my wife.

The only time I've been higher is from my cannabis capsules.

  13. Load a big bowl in the Volcano. Like full to the brim. I challenge you to even finish the whole bowl.

  14. If you can even say you aren't high after half a chamber full in a volcano to yourself then you must be vaping mids.

Before you ask, yes I made an account just for this post.

When you vape, you are getting THC and only THC. However, when you smoke you are getting other naturally occurring chemicals that usually do not burn when you vape. Here is a list of all of the active ingredients of cannabis thanks to jorge cervantes for this info.

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) gets a user high, a larger THC content will produce a stronger high. Without THC you don't get high.

CBD (Cannabidiol) increases some of the effects of THC and decreases other effects of THC. High levels of THC and low levels of CBD contribute to a strong, clear headed, more energetic high.

Cannabis that has a high level of both THC and CBD will produce a strong head-stone that feels almost dreamlike. Cannabis that has low levels of THC and high levels of CBD produces more of a buzz or stoned feeling. The mind feels dull and the body feels tired.

CBN (Cannabinol) is produced as THC ages and breaks down, this process is known as oxidization. High levels of CBN tend to make the user feel messed up rather than high.

CBN levels can be kept to a minimum by storing cannabis products in a dark, cool, airtight environment. Marijuana should be dry prior to storage, and may have to be dried again after being stored somewhere that is humid.

THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin) is found primarily in strains of African and Asian cannabis. THCV increases the speed and intensity of THC effects, but also causes the high to end sooner. Weed that smells strong (prior to smoking) might indicate a high level of THCV.

CBC (Cannabichromene) is probably not psychoactive in pure form but is thought to interact with THC to enhance the high.

CBL (Cannabicyclol) is a degradative product like CBN. Light converts CBC to CBL.

Most of these chemicals do not enter your system when you vape, thus you feel less high. Less active ingredients are affecting you.

I noticed this after smoking a vape one day instead of smoking weed. I kept feeling like I was missing something. I had to do this research to understand what I felt I was missing. I believe it is the other chemicals found in marijuana that I was craving. I take marijuana medically for anxiety, vape seems to make the anxiety worse while smoking makes it better.

Also to those of you who think that it is hard to finish a full bowl of a volcano. I would like to have a smoke battle with you. I have personally downed 3 bowls to myself on accident lol. I tend to pack without paying attention to what is going on :). It almost scares me that someone actually gets high off of one vape bowl. I mean have I really smoked that much weed that I can't get high ne more? LOL that was rhetorical of course.

  16. This is not correct. Vaping can release all of the active compounds of cannabis.

  17. I vape a 250/ 265. Produces a light brown weed. Then I roll it up with Kief to get that smoke effect

  18. vape= chill high
bong=send you to the 5th dimension

  19. Vape at higher temps

You don't get high off of carcinogens, are you fucking kidding me?

Why did it cut off my post? Anyway, you feel higher after you smoke a cigarette because of a little thing called NICOTINE, did you forget about that?

Like that other guy said, you get a different high from combustion because you're burning everything in the weed, not just THC
