It makes me sad what people do to the planet. Why couldn't we all live in small gatherer-hunter groups. ? bound by survival not decadence.

Hey man and you can have what ever perspective on reality you want, but for me bottom line is there is a evil presence in this world that is commanding the minds of the people in charge. Also i must stress that if you read the whole of chapter 4 you understand that Jesus in Lukes words "It is written that man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word of God." and this same pattern is seen in reality as we are now in the year 2011. Man is living without god and the suffering carries on. we constantly have to fight to survive. I think it goes like this "Divide and Conquer" Disclaimer : God = Animals, plants, water, land basiclly the Eco System. whether you want to see a higher being with lighting shooting out his ass is eniterly up to you but i dont cloud my thought with trivial human confusion and emotion.
Yes, religion has been tainted, but religion is merely a tool. You got to ask who is using the tool, like my dad use to say to me "A good worker never blames his tools"
This is kind of like saying nerve gas is just a tool. Actually, it's worse than that because I'm pretty sure some nerve gas had a second use as pesticide. Still, if you were watching a room full of people exposed to it, I doubt you'd stand there going "it's just a tool!" This forum apparently hosts abundant evidence that religion is not necessary to have an understanding of god, and so it would seem that religion's stated purpose is rather moot. But we can see all the results, even as early as the bible.
