Wife and I spent a week or so there last year and I liked... Renting a scooter and cruising the area Scope out various cenotes Getting out of gringolandia that is Tulum Any of the ruins are very cool We spend several days on Cozumel, which I thought was a little nicer as far as swimming/snorkeling etc
