Uv light and dark cycle

  1. Does uv light effect the plants dark cycle ?
     
  2. Yes. Phytochrome is the hormone involved in flowering and is active in the UV spectrum. The Pr form of phytochrome is the daytime component. You can see the far red end above 700nm is where pfr (the night component) peaks without activating pr. UV is in the lower end where pr ( daytime) is still active. Here's a good read that explains the night/day flower response.
