Using power generators to cut down on electricity costs?

I didnt check the diesel generators, but the 800w gasoline generator running at 50% rated output will cost about $5/day during flowering and $3.50 during veg based on the U.S. average retail gas price of $2.91/gal. I'm not sure how this compairs to electricity costs for running a 400w, but with gas as expensive as it is right now I would assume that it is way more expensive.

 

yeah, we're paying 3.45/gal here for 87 octane. Bastards.
