Using HPS lights?

    Can I use HPS lights right when I plant the seed in soil?

    Though I'm not 100% sure, it should be fine. Just don't have it too close. Also.. I believe MH is the best light for veg.

    Are these lights sufficient in the vegetation cycle:

    6-8 plants

    2- 20 Watt fluorescent lights, however it says there is a 75 watt light output for each light.

    No 2-20 watt fluorescent lights are not going to cut it. A general rule of thumb I use is at least 50 Watts per sq foot. You'd be better off with your hps going but having it a safe distance away. Or better yet, use your hps system but get a mh conversion bulb for veg.
