Using cheap-O Ferts with hydro?

  1. I know you really shouldn't do this but can you use cheap Vigoro all purpose plant food for a dwc? Just wondering b/c i can't afford GH ferts right now but I will replace it when i start flowering.

  2. ive used miracle grow plant food for passive hydro b4 & had great results, just keep the ph & stuff in check.

  3. cool thanks for responding.

  4. Its kinda like using a hammer to screw a screw. Use the right tool for the job. Sure, some people may have good results but more often than not they dont. Hydroponic nutrients are made for growing hydroponically ( :) ) and have the right amounts of nutrients, the right kinds of nutrients and so on. Cause there are different forms of NPK. For example some fertlizers will have nitrogen in the form of nitrate which is immobile (i think) and plants cant use it as good as other forms. Money shouldnt really be a problem dude, a gallon of some grow (which will last you a long time) will be like $20 or so....not expensive. Good luck with whatever you do, i wish you the best. And give us some bud porn and keep us posted! I want to see those fat, resin dripping buds when they are done.

  5. yes your rightr, but if the fert is water souable w/ micro nutes it should work, ive used MG all purpose water souable w/ micro 20-20-20 for all my grows (veg state only), soil & hydro w/ no probs, i just suggest starting @ 1/4 strength, & been growing for 15yrs

  6. Yup, for sure start with a lower strength. Thats definitely good advice.

  7. I always say that every dollar invested will return to you ten fold...go for the best, you get the best.
