So several spiders have made my outdoor plants their home. Not mites, but regular old spiders. Check the pic. Ive seen various others, bigger too. I was told these spiders aren’t necessarily harmful, but as you can see from the pic they’re spinning webs all over my plant. Recently every few nights I’ll take a hose and put it on a pretty high pressure, low enough to not damage the plants but high enough to blast away all webs. I do it at night and by the end the plants are soaking wet but dry in the morning. So my question is, will this negatively impact the plant. I’m a few weeks into flowering already, and if it is bad, what should I do about these spiders and their webs?
I think to keep away the webs you'll have to kill the spiders. Remove their web and they simply make another.
Spiders won't negatively effect the plants, unless you're looking at the presence of webs as a negative. I suppose no one really wants to smoke/vape/eat webs... In general, when I see spiders in my garden, I leave them. They eat pests. If you intend to keep spraying them off, I'd definitely recommend making that a part of your morning routine, rather than your evening routine. Humidity generally increases at night, and damp flowers = powdery mildew or botrytis. If you spray in the morning, the ambient light and lighter strength light of the morning sun will dry them off properly without burning the leaves or anything. I wouldn't recommend spraying at midday.
