I don't know what combination I should do for my Hood and Carbon filter ventillation. It is in a 8x8x9 room with two 600w raptor hoods. I am planning on getting a 500-600CFM carbon filter but don't know if I want the 8inch vortex sucking 745CFM through a smaller filter, or maybe I should run the 8 inch with a 750CFM filter. Then use a 6 inch to vent my hoods (using 8-6inch adapter). OR Run the 8 inch vortex 745CFM constantly through my 2 raptor hoods attached to 4inch passive intake. And use the 6inch fan to scrub the room. Noise if a factor, as well as smell. I can't have either. What would you do with a 6inch and 8 inch fan combo in this situation? More background: I am going into winter, temp is not much of a concern my temps are in the 70s right now with minimal room ventillation. However it gets to 110 degrees in the summer and temps without ventillation are in the 80-90s.
its a good idea to keep all the sizes the same... reducers just use up sometimes precious space the only time I would consider using a reducer is to connect to a fan, and the fan would be larger, then dialed down for sound others will disagree... but why make things more complicated than it already is... just keep everything the same size
