    LOL.

0.00005% of all Americans die from guns

Heart disease alone kills 40x as many people.

Gun violence has literally a microscopic effect on average lifespan.

Also America has a lower violent crime rate that most other developed nations save for like 1 or 2

This study proves how desperate the agenda to disarm the country is. Now they are posting false studdies.

Apperently people don't know that the FBI has all the stats on record. And the stats prove the gun control is a nonissue.

If your afraid of guns move to the UK.

    We have rights in america

  5. yeah I trust Russia Today, the media branch of the Kremlin for facts about America.

In b4 the article fails and the title to this topic is misleading.

The US has a higher life expectancy than 80% of the world. 10 years higher than the world's average. That is significant. It does not say what rich nations were surveyed, but just mosey on over to Wikipedia, all the states with higher life expectancies than the US are 1-4 years more. This speaks to overall health more than gun violence, because these nations generally have high quality of healthcare.

The United States has a firearm related homicide rate of 3.7/100k people

Which, isn't nearly as bad as troubled nations, such as El Salvador with 50+ homicides per 100k

This article is nothing but the same old sensationalist rhetoric. I could do a study on anything, let's say education in Germany. I'll conduct the survey and when Germany pops up, I'll stop right there so it looks like Germany is on the bottom. But only on the bottom of a carefully constructed range of data.

    Op, 2/10 for effort.

  7. ^Plus with a place as diverse and large as the USA, comparing it to European nations is not really a fair comparison. I'm sure some areas in the USA have 4 years lower or higher life expectancies than what the national average is based on statistics.

I do not see that as the problem. I just see irrational thinking as the problem.

To think that a 5.5/100,000 gun homicide makes any noticeable effect on life expectancy would be horribly misguided, considering what leading causes of death are in the country. (And also considering the range of factors that make up life expectancy predictions.) Talking about heart disease, car crashes, etc, that happen to hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people per year.

  9. Yes it does, which is why there are things being done about it. Unlike anything being done about all the gun deaths.

Just for future reference, how many people die from other ways has nothing to do with the gun issue. If you are concerned with heart disease than start a thread about.

So? The thread is about the abnormal amount of gun viloence.

Oh, because you know better? You have done research and studies have you?

That said, it only takes common sense to see that lack of gun control in the USA causes needless deaths day after day.

I don't live in the US, but I don't have a problem with guns. I have a problem with morons who think they need an assault rifle. I have a problem with the lack of legislation that allows deranged lunatics to possess these weapons or any gun for that matter. I have a problem when there is a mass shooting how the morons at the NRA and ignorant hicks come out and actually defend the lunatics right to have a gun.

Gun laws work amazinly well in Canada. I guess the USA is not capable enough to incorporate those laws into their own society. Letting people to have the ability to slaughter classrooms full of children is far more important.

  10. Lol, the shooting happened in a state where these laws exist and are enforced.

  11. RIGHT ON BROTHER:hello:

So not banning guns is not doing anything right?
Plenty is being.done the argument is "what" needs to be done.

You missed my point. The article.claims gun.violence decreased.life expectancy. I proved it had an insignificant effect
As a matter of fact I have. There is not an abnornaly high rate of gun.violence. all the stats are readily availible on the FBI website as well as the law enforcement.equivelent for.other developed.nations.

Perhaps YOU need to do some research =]

By common sense do.you mean the numbers of gun.violence reported by the FBI showing that the states and cities with less gun control has less gun crime?
Or the fact that overall gun violence ha halved in the past ten years in the us?
Or the fact that countries with more gun control report more gun violence?
You can have.your "common sense" ill rely on factual statistics from credible.sources

We do "need" "assault rifles" because the government has them. That's the purpose of the 2nd aammendment.
Not to mention non of our mass shooting were done with "assault rifles"
Morons and Hicks? LOL you should reread your post. Kinda ironic
Do the gun laws in Canada work?
Or.does.Canada just have. Lower crime rate in general which is irrelevent to.guns?

Maybe we should use "common sense" and realize that people.don't commit crimes just because they have guns.
We should attack the.crimes not the tools.

How about we start by isolating where most of the gun violence is and isolate the issue.

    O wait we already did.
90% of our already tiny gun homicide rate is in super packed poor neighborhoods with excessive gang activity.

We could start by addressing the issue of social.distress

Yup. As has been stated many times the most gun violence in the us is happening where we already have very strict gun.control.

    I wonder why?

  13. Poor diet and lack of exercise.

  14. All the more reason to own one. Let's say tomorow Obama passed a law saying they were all illegal and for no reason everybody didn't care. A criminal will buy one illegally off the black market (defeating the purpose of banning them) then go to mug you. What do you do when he goes to mug you? call the cops AFTER you get mugged (if you even live) just to tell them what happned. Or pull out your gun and defend yourself. The response time for a cop is 5-10 minutes. Response time for pulling out a gun is 2 seconds. Lol fuck logic

  15. So much for Mom having "Legally Obtained Weapons."

I guess there are states near by who don't have such a ban or plenty of loop holes in existing law.
    Perhaps we should fix THAT.

  16. States around Connecticut have just as much if not more regulations.

    Linkage.

  17. I would like to see a link to this data.

It has a certain air of impossibility.
Or is this YOU throwing Mexico and the cartels into the gun debate.

Pretty sure you are not referring to any 1st world country with gun control.

BBC News | EUROPE | Switzerland and the gun

Switzerland has the lowest gun crime rate in the civilized world.

Chicago has the highest gun crime rate in the country even though they have the most strict gun laws in the US.

    Facts

  19. Wyoming is looking at passing a Firearms Protection Act and from what I've read, it will allow people in that state to buy semiautomatic guns and won't limit magazine size. It will direct the state and local law enforcement people not to enforce any federal law banning such weapons. It will also command state and local law enforcement to arrest any federal official that attempts to enforce the federal ban. The feds could get up to a year in jail and a 5000 dollar fine. How's that for "in your face DC"?
