US to al-Qaeda, Iran, & Taliban

  1. Read this horse shit. Are they fucking serious?

A US Federal Judge has a message for al-Qaeda, the Taliban and the Islamic Republic of Iran: pay up. Federal Magistrate Judge Frank Maas ruled that those three entities must compensate victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to the tune of $6 billion.

From Manhattan on Monday, Judge Maas ruled that relatives of the nearly 3,000 people killed during the September 11 terrorist attacks shall be awarded a total of $6 billion from three groups of defendants determined by a separate judge last year.

Previously Federal Judge George Daniels ruled that al-Qaeda, the Taliban regime and the Iranian government were accountable for the tragedy, although Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has denied any connection on his country's part. This week Judge Maas put a monetary number to that damage.

In the latest ruling, Judge Maas calls the defendants “entities that carried out, or aided and abetted” in 9/11 and that they should be responsible for paying the families of those killed. And while some are admitting that collecting that award is almost quite literally impossible, others involved in the suit seem confident that further actions will help them see a paycheck in a matter of months.

“I never was in this for the money. I wanted accountability,” plaintiff Ellen Saracini tells the New York Daily News. “The money will never bring back my husband, so I don't care about it.”

Saracini's husband, Victor Saracini, was the pilot onboard the plane that crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center. She tells reporters that “It's hard being happy,” but is still pleased by the outcome in court this week.

“We were never in it for a lawsuit,” she says. “I wanted to know what happened to my husband.”

“It just didn't seem like our government was moving forward in trying to determine who was responsible for these attacks,” Saracini continues. “Maybe the mindset will change now, but I doubt it.”

Others say that the accountability isn't all they want, though, and expect to see compensation in the near future.

“Now we have to go about the business of collecting this money both domestically and overseas,” attorney Thomas Mellon tells Pennsylvania's The Intelligencer. “We are very hopeful that in the next six to 18 months we will be in the process of seizing Iranian assets, such as Iranian airlines, oil tankers and wells.”

Mellon says that even a decade after the terrorist attacks, most Americans are unaware of whom the government faulted. “The average American citizen doesn't yet realize that a major player in the Sept. 11 attacks was Iran and Hezbollah,” the attorney insists. He adds to the Daily News, however, that “in the terror world,” collecting compensation like this “is uncharted territory.”

If all goes accordingly, the Saracini family will see $9.5 million under the judge's order. Collecting that sum from known insurgents is with certainly a task unfit for a federal judge from Manhattan, however, which has already prompted the Associated Press to consider the ruling “largely symbolic.”

US to al-Qaeda, Iran and Taliban: You owe us $6 billion for 9/11

    inb4 garrison...
  2. First of all, do you really think, for even a second, al-Qaeda or the Taliban will give us their money? They are in this to make us broke, down, and out... Why would they stop that now? Iran sure as hell aren't giving us money, for obvious reasons. The US needs a giant bitch slap again to put the Government back in it place. We are fucking up, and this country of 312 million people will crash and burn for the government's fuck ups..
  3. We could just take over Afghanistan, and mine the natural resources. That would probably pay the six billion that is owed the 9/11 victims and their families. I don't know about Iran, not sure if they had anything to do with the attacks.

    And Afghanistan did?

  5. So, you're saying that we should just keep on doing what we're doing? Why should we rape a country's resources, when it was a small collective of radicals that did it.
  6. This is fucking stupid. If we try to take anything for Iran it will start a war. Al-Queda and the Taliban will never pay.

  7. Then garrison are you willing to pay any innocent victims over there for the US policies you promote? Do we owe Japan ? Germany? Vietnam ? The African Americans or Chineese?

  8. garrison68: No. No. No. No. No. They owe us, we don't owe them anything. Not even their own oil...
  9. Iran is not even partially responsible for 9/11, the hijackers were overwhelmingly Saudis.

Afghanistan doesn't have oil. It's minerals
  11. Afghanistan has, according to the NY Times*, over a trillion dollars worth of untapped mineral deposits which includes "huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium".

We should take six billion dollars worth of it, for the victims of 9/11. It would actually be very beneficial for Afghanistan, by getting them started in their own production rather than relying on opium production for income.

With over a trillion dollars worth of value, six billion is small price for Afghanistan to pay - both for their role in enabling al qaeda, and future industries which could improve their economy by leaps and bounds.

    $6,000,000,000/3000 people = $2000000 per person.

In Afghan killings, victim No. 17 remains unknown -

    2000000/50000 = 40.

So you believe that a person from America is fourty times more valuable than a person from Afghanistan?

    Please try to justify this.

  13. We can take out the six billion that they owe the victims of 9/11, and that still leaves them with over 994 billion dollars, which equals over two million dollars per person in Afghanistan.

Sounds to me like they'd be getting a pretty good deal, better than they deserve and a hell of a lot better than what they did to us after we provided them with the means to defeat the Soviet Union.

  14. And opium

  15. That's quite the mental gymnastics.

Ever think your ego might benefit from confronting the massive amount of cognitive dissonance moving around in your skull?

You disproportionately value American lives over afghanistani lives by 40:1!

    Thats a problem.
  16. Well considering that 9/11 was caused by blowback, and the events prior, we shouldn't be asking for shit. Damn neocons and shit, damnit.

  17. Why shouldn't they continue to grow and harvest their opium and hashish? It's a constant flow of goods, you know, unlike minerals that will never come back...

Also, what did the country of Afghanistan do to you garrison? Like it's been said before, and should even be common knowledge 11 years after this shit, the majority of the "terrorists" came from Saudi Arabia... bin Laden had a lot of ties there, and he was found in Pakistan..

Let's say the US bombs someone, and they attack Mexico, how fucking retarded is that.

Yeah, that is fucking retarded, sadly, this is how our Government and you think...

By the way, Blowback is the reason for all of the retaliation, not terrorism.. Let's get that clear, okay? They, Don't, owe, us, shit. If the US wasn't at war is 73,000 different countries, they would be able to help the families out, but no.
  18. Changing the topic to Syria for a minute, has anyone seen the execution video that just came out. Rebels lined up Pro-Government people and shot them down. This is what the US is fueling over there. 10 years down the line, I bet we will be killing them after we put them into power.
  19. Why Iran? What do they have to do with 911?

  20. Ummmmmmm.... Yes.
