Person Arrested in Washington as Part of FBI Probe | USA | English

U.S. federal authorities say they have arrested a person near the U.S. Capitol building who they say was seeking to carry out a terrorist attack.

Officials say the suspect had sought to use what he thought were explosives in an attack on the Capitol. Law enforcement authorities say the explosives had been "rendered inoperable by law enforcement and posed no threat to the public."

The U.S. Capitol Police say the person was detained Friday in the area of the Capitol as part of a "lengthy and extensive operation" with the FBI.

This of course comes off the backs of the Nigerian Underwear Bomber's conviction:

"This was an act of terrorism that cannot be quibbled with," said U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds, who imposed the maximum sentence allowed.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 25, showed no emotion when Edmunds pronounced the sentence, sitting withhis hands clasped under his chin, elbows resting on the arms of his chair at the defense table.

The bomb caused a fire but failed to explode on a Delta Airlines flight from Amsterdam carrying 289 people on December 25. He was quickly subdued by passengers and crew and the fire extinguished.
Since then, U.S. officials have sought to bolster airport security, deploying full-body scanners to try to detect explosives.

The FBI approached this guy, knowing he was an illegal immigrant, and talked him into the attack attempt, and provided the fake weapons/bombs to be used...he was profiled, setup and FRAMED.

GO DC!
I for one welcome our overlords silencing of the masses via show of force on FED agency created terrorist threats...smear campaigns and propaganda 4tw!
