URGENT PLEASE RESPOND ASAP....oil question!!!

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by betagamma, Mar 29, 2012.

  1. Im making oil in a toaster oven with 4gs and so I put enough oil to cover it and am planning on ovening it for 30 mins at 335. I saw this same recipe only with 1g so do you think it will work??
    Thanks

  2. If it works with 1 g it should work with 4. Just make sure you grind it really fine.

  3. Will 335 be too high and maybe evaporate the thc from the bud/oil ?
I was always told to just simmer it lightly in a pan over the stove but not so much that steam is being emitted

I covered it with aluminum foil

  5. There's some really good threads on GC for making the oil. 335 F for making the oil sounds about 100 degress to high - I hope you didn't ruin it.

  6. 250 Is a pretty prime temp.

at 335, this is too high. But it will still work (unless you scorched the oil) just wont be maximally effective. Good luck

The oil turned a darker color and the weed turned brown so I think it should work hopefully

  8. Cooking oils all have "smoke points", which is the temperature at which they start to burn. 335 is too hot for a lot of cooking oils. You can do a search and find a chart of the different temperatures. Also, at 335 you're probably burning off some of what you are trying to infuse into the oil. If it turned out dark, there is a good chance that it is just because it scorched.
