Uprating Cheap Timers

Timers for hps lamps & heavy duty fans???
Cheap little timers are useless - they have tiny contacts inside & will weld together under the load of a hps lamp or high powered fan.

Converting a cheap timer to carry a higher load??

This should be as simple as replacing the tiny contacts in the cheap timer with higher rated contacts - ie change a switch or relay.
I've got 2 types of cheap timer here so I'll take them apart, see if it's possible, then find some part numbers & convert them.
If it's not practical, then u know which timers to avoid...................................................
