Hey guys, last year i started with a random bag seed in a 5 gallon pot with promix premium or something made for flowers. Used a random green bag seed and planted it in mid july, it grew to about 2 feet tall with a huge harvest of 4.5 grams LOL, it was potent and great smoke surprisingly for only feeding tap water. This year since i have a license to grow 2 i got 2 clones for free that were big bud x northern lights. It vegged from may until the beginning of august and started to preflower then, and is officially one week into actual flower! My goal was a 4 foot plant by harvest, they are almost 7 feet now, i don't know what i got myself into haha. i tried using a 10-15 gallon instead of the ground to keep the plant on the smaller side but i think they just about outgrew their pot! had to transfer them from 10 to 15 gallon pots halfway through veg Soil: promix hp 3/4 and 1/4 worm castings Tap water only during veg, even with chlorine. Last 2 weeks ive been experimenting with bloom nutes and i fucked up my ph one day and saw lots of lower leaves die a little too quick, changed my ph back to 6.5 and shes loosing them at the right pace now! 2 days and not 1 leaf to pick compared to 10-15 dead a day lol. I was told not to worry since it was only the bottom part of the plant, does the rest look healthy? How big can these buds get? lol Thanks for your input! What would you estimate the harvest will be from 2 if all goes well? I check PH and npk almost every day. Note: THE FIRST PIC IS FROM LAST YEAR.
Kinda lanky. Tells me they could have used more direct sunlight. Here's mine with good early day sun exposure. I dont mess with PPM's or pHing my water or nutrients. Good healthy soil is self buffering.
My goal was 4 feet so i put them in a 5 gallon pot, needed to switch over to 10 when i saw it being rootbound. No nutes during veg just water, and yeah my area is slightly more shaded than the middle of my yard but its a perfect spot for easy access and making a rain cover later on. My buddy used nutes, put them in the gruond and his are almost 11-12 feet nwo! Taller than his fuckin roof! LOL, i'm happy with this size but thats amazing brother!!! I'll grow big once i have the space... Also looking back at this, not sure why they don't look as bushy in the pic as they do in person! i'll take another pic maybe today or tomorrow and you'll see what i mean. Pretty bushy for their size and i defoliated lots of leaves close to the main stem and the fist 1-2 feet of bottom. Will experiment with nutes next year for sure my buddies plants look great, but i'm surprised at how similar his ones in the 10 gallon pots look compared to my 10 gallon pot. about the same height just more healthier looking in general The first pic from last year.. oh man i have learned lots since then, even though i just used water i got proper clones and a good soil mix this time. Didn't help i planted that one last year in august while these plants were already mature and startign to flower by then lol!
On another note, you are very right. Never phed my water or soil until 4 weeks ago and soil was at 6.5 so it was perfect, wasnt until i started experimenting with bloom nuts i fed way too low ph to the soil making it 5.0 or less ph in 2 days. Wsa brutal and yellow leaves started happening quick, got the ph back up with regular water and shes doing better! Overall most of the plant has always looked healthy, just the odd bottom leaf is what worried me
Way better than my first grow! Very nice! My second one is doing a lot better in size but doesn't have the big buds like you do lol pics coming soon! The buds are growing at a much faster pace everyday now
delete, accident lol. sorry for making too many posts won't happen again i'm a little out of it after musky fishing all night
Took a pic of one 2 of the lower nodes, not the colas. Was raining pretty hard outside, kind of cool to see the triches up close when they're wet.
